Fellowships for Biological / Chemical Science at TIFR

TIFR is a National Centre of the Government of India, under the umbrella of the Department of Atomic Energy , as well as a deemed University awarding degrees for master's and doctoral programs. The Institute was founded in 1945 with support from the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust under the vision of Dr. Homi Bhabha. At TIFR, we carry out basic research in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science and science education. Our main campus is located in Mumbai, with centres at Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Post : Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

Applications are invited for one position of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) to work on an ANRF (Anusandhan National Research Foundation) funded project titled "Investigating the mechanism of co-translational protein folding and its implications in cellular physiology" under the supervision of Prof. Debasis Das at the Department of Biological Sciences, TIFR Mumbai.

Qualification : Essential :
M.Sc or Ph.D in Biological / Chemical Science or Engineering.
Experience : Substantial (at least one year) research experience in Biological / Chemical Science or Engineering. Knowledge on performing in silico studied will be advantageous

Job Requirement : The selected candidate will be involved in the active research on understanding the mechanism of nascent protein folding using various experimental and in silico methods.

Age Limit : Preferable below 45 years.

Fellowship : Rs.42,000/- per month plus 30% HRA

Nature & Period of Post : Appointment is temporary and will be initially for a period of one year, extendable for a maximum period of another 4 years based on performance. The appointment is temporary and non- pensionable. The candidate will not have any claim for any permanent or temporary appointment in the institute either during or after the project.
