Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) a Public Sector Undertaking of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, and Government of India has been entrusted the responsibility of implementing this Program. It will house the Program Management Unit (PMU) that would work as an operational and functional arm to oversee and monitor program implementation.

Consolidated Remuneration : Between Rs.90,000/- to Rs. 2,70,000/- Lump sum per month depending on Qualifications and Experience.
Job Description : The selected person would be responsible for execution and implementation of ICC activities. Facilitate regulatory support to investible projects from Industry/ Investors through inter- ministerial engagement including DBT, DPIIT, Invest India, others. Participate in the development of a single window clearance system.
Tenure : Biotechnology Industry Facilitation Cell Program Management Unit (PMU) for Make In India is set up by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) at BIRAC. This position is purely temporary (on contractual basis) and co-terminus with the project. The present duration of the project is up to Sept, 2026.
Functional Objective : To streamline industrial compliance and regulatory clearances for the biotechnology sector.
Reporting : The person will be reporting to Mission Director – MII
Eligibility :
Essential Qualifications : Masters in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Pharma / Management / Health Innovation / Public Policy or any other related area.
Desirable Qualifications : Ph.D in one of the above mentioned area.
Experience : Post Qualification, 6-8 years of experience with minimum 3 years of experience in regulatory affairs.
Age Limit : 38 years as on closing date of vacancy.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze regulatory frameworks governing biotechnology, bio-manufacturing, and pharma sectors.
• Facilitate high-level interface between industry stakeholders and national regulatory bodies (CDSCO, FSSAI, etc.)
• Provide technical guidance to start-ups on national and international certification standards.
• Provide strategic inputs for the Investment clearance cell to fast-track regulatory approvals for biotech start-ups and enterprises.
• Identify and resolve systemic regulatory bottlenecks to accelerate commercialization.
