The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER), SAS Nagar is an autonomous institute of National importance set up by the Government of India, under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers by an Act of Parliament, to impart higher education and undertake advanced research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, technology and management. The Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India has launched the Scheme for "Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma MedTech sector (PRIP)" with the goal of transforming India into a global powerhouse for R&D in the Pharma MedTech sector. Under this scheme, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Mohali is establishing Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Anti-viral and Anti-bacterial drug discovery and development in its campus at NIPER Mohali.

The Institute is looking for dynamic, result oriented and experienced professionals for the following temporary positions under Centre of Excellence (CoE) initially for a period of one (01) year which may be extended on case-to-case basis depending upon the job/specific requirement and performance of the individuals

Scientific Coordinator

Essential Qualification : Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences/Biological Science/ Chemical Science / Pharmacoinformatics / Cheminformatics / Bioinformatics / with relevant experience. 
Desirable Qualification : Experience in development of AI/ML based predictive algorithm to identify potential antivirals. Experience in CADD/ Drug targets identification/ /Omics based antiviral drug discovery. Experience in database development and management. 
Job Responsibilities : Candidate will perform AI/ML based predictive algorithm to identify potential antivirals and CADD /Drug targets identification/Omics based antiviral drug discovery. Additionally, candidate will be responsible for database development and management.

Scientific Coordinator

Essential Qualification : Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Life Science/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology with relevant experience Desirable Qualification :  Research experience in handling BSL2/3 bacterial pathogens and drug screening/ Molecular Biology/ diagnostic assay development/molecular recognition element (aptamers, antibodies, and nanobodies development).
Job Responsibilities : Candidate will be actively involved in the antibacterial drug discovery work (screening the synthetic compounds, natural products and biologics).He/She will also be responsible for diagnostic assay development work. Additionally, candidate will be responsible for data management and report preparation.

Scientific Coordinator

Essential Qualification : Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences / Life Science / Chemical Science / Microbiology / Biotechnology with relevant experience. 
Desirable Qualification : Research experience in molecular biology, or protein chemistry, or cell culture, or BSL2/BSL3 pathogen handling. 
Job Responsibilities : Candidate will be actively involved in the antiviral drug discovery and development. He/She will also be responsible for antiviral assay development work. Additionally, candidate will be responsible for data management and report preparation.

Senior Research Fellow

Essential Qualification : M.S.(Pharm.) / M. Pharm. in Pharmaceutics / Pharmacology/ Pharmacology & Toxicology /Pharmaceutical Technology (Formulation) / Pharmaceutical Biotechnology with two year of relevant experience. 
Desirable Qualification : Hands on experience of novel formulation development, mammalian cell culture work and animal model development and efficacy testing preferably by pulmonary route of administration. 
Job Responsibilities : Nanoformulation development and characterization, cell culture-based studies and molecular biology- based experiments, animal work involving pharmacokinetic and efficacy studies by pulmonary route of administration


Senior Research Fellow

Essential Qualification : M.S.(Pharm.) / M. Pharm. / M. Tech. (Pharm.) or with specialization in Pharmaceutics/Pharmaceutical Technology (Formulation) / Drug delivery or equivalent with two year of relevant experience 
Desirable Qualification : Candidates having minimum 2 year of experience in the Development and characterization of drug delivery systems like nanoparticles, microparticles and transdermal.

Senior Research Fellow

Desirable Qualification : 2-year Experience in organic synthesis in academic or industrial research laboratory.

Senior Research Fellow

Essential Qualification : M. Pharm./M.S./M. Tech. in Natural products/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry and process chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry with two years of relevant experience. 
Desirable Qualification : 2-year Experience in Isolation and characterization of phytochemicals and/or preparation of enriched fractions from Indian medicinal plants for anti-viral and anti- bacterial bioassay.

General Information
1. The positions are purely on temporary basis initially for a period of one (01) year which may be extended for other term(s) on case to case basis depending upon the job/specific requirement and performance of the individuals. 
2. Only eligible Indian nationals having proven track record, command, expertise and deep knowledge in the respective area may apply. 
3. Application form is available on the Institute’s website <niper.gov.in/jobs>. The candidate(s) who fulfill the eligibility criteria, may submit the hard copy of application(s) in the prescribed application form along with attested copies of testimonials / degrees/ certificates, wherever applicable etc., in support of the averments made in the qualification, experience and other columns in the application form along with latest passport size photograph with proof of payment of prescribed fee, wherever applicable. 
4. Incomplete application or without relevant supporting enclosures (i.e. self attested copies of degree /certificates/marks sheets/experience certificates, without photographs, signatures and prescribed fee, wherever applicable) will be out-rightly rejected. 
5. The application fee prescribed for the post is mentioned below:

6. Candidates applying for more than one position need to fill separate application forms supported by all relevant documents in support of essential qualification, experience claimed with requisite application and fee as specified at Point No. 5 above. Application form without supporting documents and prescribed fee shall be summarily rejected and no further correspondence in this regard shall be entertained in any circumstances. 
7. Age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / PwBD etc. will be as per the Government of India rules. The candidates are required to attach valid proof for claiming relaxation as per the guidelines prescribed by the Government of India from time to time. 
8. The Competent Authority may relax the experience and age in case of exceptionally meritorious candidates. 
9. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. The result of shortlisted candidates shall be uploaded on Institute’s website and also conveyed through e-mail provided in the application form to the shortlisted candidates for attending the interview. No written or speed post communications shall be sent separately, and no claims of any kind shall be entertained in this regard. However, the candidates are advised to check NIPER website and their e-mails regularly. 
10. No correspondence or query will be entertained from the candidates regarding the eligibility, status of applications, postal delays, result of interview/selection process and reasons for not being called for interview or selection etc. 

11. The process of selection may include presentation / seminar / interview or any other process as decided by the competent authority. 
12. No TA/DA shall be paid either for attending the interview or for joining the assignment. 
13. The institute reserves the right to revise/reschedule/cancel/suspend the recruitment process without assigning any reason. The decision of the Institute shall be final, and no appeal shall be entertained. 
14. However, the application will only be considered on receipt of hard copy of application. 
16. The last date for receipt of application forms is 30.06.2025 (Monday), 05:00 pm. 
17. The Institute will NOT be responsible for non-receipt of application(s) within the stipulated date due to any postal delay/loss of application/document sent in transit. Late receipt of applications may not be considered and applications received after due date i.e. 30.06.2025 (Monday) shall not be entertained at any circumstances.
