NIPER Ahmedabad was initiated with three specializations Biotechnology, Natural Products and Pharmaceutics and over the period of time three more specializations Pharmaceutical Analysis, Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology and Toxicology were added in 2010. Subsequently in 2011, to cater the needs of Medical device industry in India, another feather was added to the cap of NIPER Ahmedabad in the form of specialization in Medical Devices.
Post : Project Research Scientist-I (NM) (1 Post)
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for one Project Research Scientist-I (NM) position in a project to be undertaken at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER- Ahmedabad. The position is temporary and will be co-terminus with the project. The requisite qualifications & experience etc. are given below.
Project Title : Killing two birds with one stone: dual blockade of tumor pyruvate kinase M2 and dihydrofolate reductase through hybrid molecule in oral cancer
Duration : Appointment will be for one year only and co-terminus with project

Essential Qualification : M.Sc / M.Pharm / M.S / M.Tech / Integrated PG degree in Organic Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry or Equivalent (as per ICMR OM No.16/29/2023/Admn/E.Office No.157401)
Desirable Qualification and Experience :
• Candidates having experience in organic synthesis, design and development of nitrogen heterocyclics, flash chromatography, bioinformatics, and knowledge of spectroscopic tools of structure elucidation with first class throughout will be preferred.
• NET/GATE/GPAT or equivalent qualification is desirable.
Job Profile The primary focus of the projects are :
1) Multi-step syntheses and purification of complex heterocycles
2) Cell-free and cell-based assays
3) Spectroscopic characterization of the compounds
4) Computational studies
