The institute completed its 100 years in 2019, and we wish to take forward the legacy with rejuvenated vigor and sheer dedication with a commitment to nation building. The Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi owes its existence to Bharat Ratna Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, the founder of the first residential University of modern India, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), who could foresee the vital role of technical education in strengthening independent India. Engineering education in BHU started in 1919 with the establishment of Banaras Engineering College (BENCO).

Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at a Fixed Stipend/ Fellowship/ Salary amount of Rs. 37000 p.m. in a Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) Sponsored Project entitled “Stimuli Responsive Ultrabright Biomimetic NanoGhost for Targeted Solid Tumor Theranostics” sanctioned up to 03/2028.

Essential qualifications : M.Tech. in Nanoscience & Nanotechnology / Biotechnology / Biochemical Engineering / Materials Science (or) M.Sc. in Chemistry / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Microbiology with a minimum of first division (60% marks or equivalent grade) and passing of GATE / NET test.

Desirable qualifications, if any : Candidate should possess basic knowledge of nanomaterials, conjugation chemistry, cell culture, etc.

The upper Age Limit is 28 Years (relaxable as Per GoI Rules); All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules.

Fellowship / salary : 37000 Rs. P.M.
