The origins of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) are rooted in the Indian Cancer Research Centre (ICRC), which was established in 1952 in Parel, Mumbai, under the purview of the Ministry of Health, Government of India. In 1966, ICRC was renamed the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) and amalgamated with the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), creating the first comprehensive cancer centre in India - the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.

Senior Research Fellow-1
To work on project entitled “Histone Acetylation and Histone Deacetylase Activity in Cancer: A Proof-of-Principle Study for Exploring the Potential of HDACi Therapy in Combination with Standard Chemotherapeutic Drugs in Gastric Cancer.”
Educational Qualification :
Essential: *M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences / Molecular Medicine / Biochemistry / Biotechnology or equivalent subject with > 60% aggregate marks. Candidate qualified National level entrance examination like NET-LS/GATE will be preferred.
Work Experience : Essential: Minimum Two years’ experience in handling human samples, mammalian cell culture and molecular biology experiments such as IHC, Protein isolation, Western blotting, qPCR, ELISA. *M.Sc. degree having a duration of one-year course will not be considered. Selected candidates will have to join at the earliest; hence result-awaited candidates will not be eligible to apply for the post.
Consolidated Salary : Rs. 30,000-35,000/- per month Rs. 40,000-45,000/- per month (NET qualified candidates).
Duration : Six Months. The work progress of candidates will be monitored and extension will depend on satisfactory progress of the work.
Senior Research Fellow-2
To work on project entitled “Understanding the role of molecular alterations in recurrent HCC: a potential use of epidrugs.”
Educational Qualification :
Essential : *M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences / Molecular Medicine / Biochemistry / Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology or equivalent subject with > 60% aggregate marks. Candidate qualified National level entrance examination like NET-LS/GATE will be preferred.
Work Experience : Essential : Minimum Two years’ experience in handling human samples, mammalian cell culture, molecular biology experiments, analysis of data generated by WGS/RNA seq technologies.
*M.Sc. degree having a duration of one-year course will not be considered. Selected candidates will have to join at the earliest; hence result-awaited candidates will not be eligible to apply for the post.
Consolidated Salary : Rs. 35,000/- per month
Rs. 40,000/- per month (NET qualified)
Duration : Six Months. The work progress of candidates will be monitored and extension will depend on satisfactory progress of the work.
