Advertisement for MSc or MTech in Life Sciences at NIAB, Salary upto Rs. 72,800 month

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling the following positions at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad.

NIAB is an autonomous and premier institute of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. The Institute aims to develop and harness novel and emerging biotechnological tools and applications, and take up research in cutting-edge areas for improving animal health and productivity as well as contribute to human health and welfare.

Project Title : “Deciphering the role of Macrophage polarization to identify the molecular markers involved in the pathogenesis of Leptospirosis” funded by ICMR , PI - Dr. Syed M. Faisal, Scientist – F

Project Research Scientist-1 (Non-Medical) – 1 position
Essential Qualification : 1st Class Post Graduate / Master’s Degree / M.Tech in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Etc.) including the Integrated PG degree from a recognized university OR 2nd Class Post Graduate / Master’s Degree / M.Tech in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Etc.) including the Integrated PG degree from a recognized university with Ph. D degree.
Fellowship amount : Rs.56000 + 30 % HRA (If applicable)
Experience : A candidate with experience in molecular biology, immunology techniques, animal (mice, hamsters) handling is desirable. Candidates with prior experience with working on macrophages biology and/or Leptospira infection model will be preferred. Age : 35 years
Tenure : One year, likely to extended based on performance and co-terminus with the duration of the project (June, 2028)

Project Technical Support-III - 1 position
Essential Qualification : Three-year Graduate Degree in in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Etc.) with three years’ experience or Post Graduate degree OR Four-year Graduate degree/B. Tech or equivalent plus three years’ experience. Fellowship amount : Rs. 28000 + 30% HRA (If applicable)
Experience : A candidate with some experience in Laboratory or field work. Candidate having experience in handling animals (mice, goat) is desirable. Candidates with experience working as technical staff in a research laboratory having experience in Leptospira culture and maintenance will be preferred.
Age : 35 years
Tenure : One year, likely to extended based on performance and co-terminus with the duration of the project (June, 2028)
