NIAB, an autonomous institute under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and create knowledge in the cutting edge areas for impr oving animal health and productivity. The Institute’s research focus is on animal genetics and genomics, transgenic technology, reproductive technology, infectious diseases, nutritional enrichment, and bioinformatics. The Institute aims at translational r esearch leading to genetic enhancement of Indian Livestock species and development of novel vaccines, diagnostics and improved therapeutic molecules for farm animals.

Junior Research Fellow under project entitled “Development of lateral flow based chromatographic immunoassay using recombinant chimera antigens for point-of-care testing of Toxoplasma gondii infection” of PI: Dr. Abhijit S. Deshmukh.

Tenable upto : December 2019

Eligibility: Post graduate degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.) or post graduate degree in professional courses (M.Tech in Life Sciences, M.V.Sc. etc). The candidate should have qualified any National Level Examination (CSIR/UGC-NET; DBT; ICMR) as per DST OM dated 21.04.2014 for applying the above position, however non-qualified candidates can also appear who will be paid as per their eligibility.

Desired Experience: Experience in Molecular Biology/Protein Biochemistry.

Age: 30 years (Relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC and women candidates as per Government instructions).

Fellowship amount: NET qualified candidate Rs.25000/-PM+30% HRA = 32,500/- PM Non-NET qualified candidate Rs. 12000/PM+30%HRA=15600/- PM

General terms and conditions:
i. The candidate selected for the above post will be on contract for six months.
ii. Applicants are to be directly appeared for the interview with complete Curriculum vitae (with names of three referee) along with originals and photocopy (1 set) of all the documents in proof of theior academic credentials and age.
iii. TA/DA will not be paid for attending the interview
iv. Canvasing in any form will be a disqualification.
