Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology was established in the year 1987 as Regional Engineering College and was given the status of National Institute of Technology (Deemed University) by the Government of India on October 17, 2002 under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi. Now the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has declared the Institute as “Institute of National Importance” under the act of Parliament-2007.

Applications are invited for the one post of Junior Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow in CSIR funded research project entitled as “Design and Synthesis of β-Carboline Based Therapeutically Potential Molecular Architectures via Exploration of Chemoselectivity of Aldo-X Bifunctional Building Blocks (AXB3s)”. The date of interview is 21st June 2019 (Friday) 2:00 pm onward in the office room of Head, Department Chemistry.

Duration : Three Year (Approximately)

Qualification : M. Sc in Chemistry/Organic Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ M. Sc. In Medicinal Chemistry or equivalent with minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidate) (NET/GATE qualified student having prior experience in Organic Synthesis will be preferred)

Fellowship : *JRF= Rs. 12,000/PM + HRA; Master degree with NET/GATE or equivalent *SRF= Rs. 14,000/PM + HRA; Master degree with at least two year of research/teaching experience

Age Limit : JRF (28 year), SRF (32 year). The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in the case of applicants belonging to scheduled castes/scheduled tribes/OBC/ physically handicapped and women applicants as per CSIR norms.

Nature of Work : Design and synthesis of molecules having biological and photophysical properties and their study.

R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, G T Road Bye Pass, Jalandhar, 144011, Punjab. Selected candidate may be registered for PhD program at NIT Jalandhar as per institute procedure.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

*The fellowship is subject to approval of CSIR, New Delhi. HRA will be given as per rules of the Host Institution, provided he/she has not been given hostel accommodation.
