Potential candidates are invited for walk-in-interview on 28th June 2017 for the position of Senior Project Scientist (Research Associate-III) in a DBT-BMBF funded project in the lab of Dr Shyam K Masakapalli, IIT Mandi.
Project Title: Cellulosic waste to high value products by integrating microbial bioprocessing and pyrolysis techniques
Selection criteria of the RA position:
Essential
* Relevant qualifications and experience as per eligibility stated above
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Willingness to learn new techniques
* Confidence to handle microorganisms
Desirable
* Knowledge and Experience in one or more areas - Microbial/cellular bioprocessing, Metabolic engineering, Metabolic Flux Analysis, Practical expertise in LC-MS, GC-MS, NMR in relation to metabolite analysis
* Previous experience of working with Bioreactors and industrial microorganisms (Bacteria/Fungi/Algae etc) is an added advantage
* Decent publication record in relevant area
Eligibility: PhD in relevant subject (Biosciences, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering etc) or candidates having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MVSc/M.Pharm/ME/M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation lndexed (SCl) journal

Salary: Maximum of 40,000/- + 10% HRA (Funding is available for Two years). The salary may vary depending on Qualification and Experience as per DBT guidelines
Duration: 2 years (Initial for 12 months. Will be extended to one more year subjected to performance). The selected candidate will need to join the project immediately.
