TIGS is a program driven research institute with a focus on solving pressing societal challenges. We are seeking applications from enthusiastic candidates to join as Research Assistant & Research Associate in the Crop Improvement program to work on genome editing of crop plants.

Job Opening for Research staff (Job Code – 38)

Total number of positions : 03 
Roles and Responsibilities : 
1. Research Assistant - 38 (A) : The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting vector construction, molecular characterization of transgenic events, and tissue culture and genetic transformation of crop plants. 
Experience in phenotypic data collection and analysis of greenhouse-grown plants will be considered an added advantage. 

Essential Qualifications and Requirements 
• M.Sc. in Plant Science, Botany, Agricultural Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology, or Genetics and Plant Breeding. 
• Preference will be given to candidates with relevant research experience in plant molecular biology, tissue culture and transformation. 
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment. 

2. Research Associate – 38 (B) : The selected candidate is expected to establish disease phenotypic assays for different crops under both field and greenhouse conditions. Candidate should also have experience in molecular characterization of bacterial and fungal pathogens and should actively participate in various aspects of genome editing project pipeline. 

Essential Qualifications / Requirements 
• We are seeking candidates with an MSc. in Plant Pathology and 2-3 years of research experience in developing disease phenotyping assays and screening germplasm for various diseases under both greenhouse and field conditions. 
• Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record of research experience in Plant Pathology, particularly at the production level, preferably from the seed industry. Candidates should be willing to work across open-field, greenhouse, and laboratory environments.
