National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) was conceptualized by Government of India on persistent demand of the food industry to have an apex body as a "One Stop Solution Provider" for the various problems of the sector. Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India has set up this institute with an initial investment of Rs. 500 crore (US USD 100 million). The institute is spread over an area of 100 acres.

Project Title : Utilization and Encapsulation of Mushroom Stipe Wastes of Agaricus bisporus and Lentinula edodes through Advanced Extraction Technologies for Functional Nutraceuticals
Duration : 2 years (Initially for one year, extendable for the second year, subject to satisfactory performance and continuation of the project). The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Emoluments per Month : Rs. 37,000/- per month (consolidated)

Essential Qualifications : Master's degree (M.Sc./MTech or equivalent) in Food Science and Technology/ Life Sciences/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/ Environmental Sciences from a recognized university/institution, with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.

Age Limit : Forty (40) years as on the last date of application (relaxation as per Government of India norms for reserved categories)
Desirable : 1. UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/GATE or equivalent national-level examination qualified.
2. Experience in field surveys, metabolites extraction and waste valorization
3. Handling of analytical techniques

Place of Work : NIFTEM-Kundli, Sonipat (Haryana), with extensive field visits to agro- food companies and FPOs across Haryana
