The Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR), established in 1965, a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). The institute is actively engaged in Research & Development (R&D) in core areas of toxicology and National Science & Technology (S&T) Missions. Its major areas of research include Environmental Toxicology, Predictive Toxicology, Health Risk Assessment, Preventive Toxicology, Inhalation Toxicology, Analytical Toxicology, etc. IITR has two campuses. The Main Campus is centrally located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, while the Second Campus is situated approximately 20 km from the Main Campus.

Desirable Qualification : Preference will be given to candidates having working experience (minimum 1 year) in a microbiology lab.
Job Description : Laboratory analysis, data compilation, and drafting of technical reports.
Age Limit and Relaxation
1. Minimum Age :
The minimum age for applying is 18 years as on the last date of submission of online application.
2. Upper Age Limit:
a. For Project Assistant-II (PA-II), Project Associate (PAT-I), Project Associate (PAT-II) & Project Scientist-I (PS-I) the Upper Age Limits 35 years.
b. For Senior Project Associate (Senior-PAT) & Project Scientist- II (PS- II) the Upper Age Limit is 40 years.
c. For Project-Junior Research Fellow the Upper Age Limit is 28 years.
d. For Diamond Jubilee Research Intern the Upper Age Limit is 25 years.
e. For Project Assistant (PA) & Project Associate (PAT-I) Upper Age Limit will be 50 years. The service duration should not exceed beyond 60 years of age (as per ANRF norms).
3. Age Relaxation:
a. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), PwBD and Women candidates will receive a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit.
b. Candidates belonging to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) will receive a relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit.
SELECTION PROCESS
1. List of Eligible and Ineligible Candidates:
The final list of eligible and ineligible candidates shall be published on 04.08.2026 (tentatively).
2. For All Posts :
The selection of candidates for all posts shall be made solely on the basis of performance in the interview.
* In the event of receipt of a large number of applications, the interview process may be conducted on the scheduled date and may continue on the following day, if required.
GENERAL CONDITIONS / INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES
1. The applicant must be a citizen of India.
2. The posts advertised are purely temporary in nature and shall remain valid only for the duration of the respective projects.
3. Engagement under these projects shall not confer any right, either explicit or implicit, upon the candidate for regular appointment or absorption in CSIR or CSIR-IITR.
4. The number of vacancies is provisional and may vary depending upon the requirements of the project(s). The publication of this advertisement does not imply that all advertised posts shall necessarily be filled. CSIR-IITR, Lucknow reserves the right to cancel, modify, or withdraw any or all positions at any stage of the recruitment process without assigning any reason.
5. Wherever experience is prescribed for a post, only the experience acquired after obtaining the minimum prescribed educational qualification shall be considered valid.
6. The prescribed educational qualifications must have been obtained from a University, Institute, or Board recognized by the Government of India or from an institution approved by the relevant statutory/regulatory authority. The final result of the qualifying examination must have been declared on or before the last date of submission of the online application.
7. All certificates and testimonials submitted by the candidates shall be subject to verification. Candidates must produce original documents whenever required by the Institute. Any false, incorrect, or incomplete information furnished in the application shall result in cancellation of candidature without any prior notice. The candidature of the applicant shall remain provisional at every stage of the selection process and shall be subject to fulfilment of the eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement and applicable CSIR rules.
8. If the date of birth is not mentioned in the uploaded Class 10th certificate, the candidate must upload a valid Birth Certificate as proof of date of birth.
9. Candidates who have been awarded marks in CGPA, SGPA, OGPA, or any other grading system must convert the grades into percentage as per the conversion formula prescribed by their respective University/Institute and mention the same in the application form. The crucial date for determining age,
educational qualifications, and experience shall be the last date of submission of the online application.

11. Wherever experience in a specific subject or area of work is prescribed, the period of experience shall be calculated from the date of acquiring the minimum educational qualification prescribed for the concerned post.
12. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC-Non- Creamy Layer), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), Ex¬Servicemen, or any other reserved category shall be required to submit a valid certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format.
13. Candidates must correctly mention all their educational qualifications, experience, and other relevant details in the application form and upload valid supporting documents.
14. Before final submission of the application, candidates must ensure that the application form is complete and all required certificates and documents have been uploaded. Any discrepancy found between the information provided in the application and the original documents produced during verification shall render the candidate ineligible for the post.
15. The date of birth entered in the online application must exactly match the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Certificate or Birth Certificate. No request for any subsequent change in the date of birth shall be entertained.
16. Candidates are advised to submit their online applications well before the closing date. No extension of the closing date shall be granted due to server issues, technical difficulties, or any other unforeseen circumstances at the last moment. The decision of the Institute in this regard shall be final and binding.
17. Before applying, candidates must ensure that they fulfil all the prescribed educational qualifications, experience, and other eligibility conditions as specified in the advertisement as on the closing date of the online application. No interim correspondence regarding eligibility shall be entertained. The prescribed qualification and experience are only minimum eligibility criteria, and selection shall be made through an interview process.
18. If a candidate claims that their qualification is equivalent to the qualification prescribed in the advertisement, they must submit an order/certificate issued by the competent authority clearly indicating the approval of equivalence along with the reference number and date. Failure to provide such proof may result in rejection of the application. The final decision regarding equivalence shall be taken as per the applicable CSIR guidelines.
19. Canvassing in any form or attempting to use political or other influence for securing selection shall be treated as a disqualification.
20. No Travelling Allowance (TA) or Daily Allowance (DA) shall be payable for appearing in the interview.
21. Only those candidates who have successfully submitted their online applications on or before the prescribed closing date shall be eligible to appear for the interview.
22. Candidates shall be required to appear at the interview venue on the prescribed date and time along with the following original documents:
• A self-attested copy of the submitted application form.
• Proof of date of birth (if the date of birth is not mentioned in the Matriculation Certificate).
• Matriculation/Secondary School Certificate and Mark Sheet.
• Certificates and Degrees of all Educational Qualifications mentioned in the application form.
• Order/letter regarding equivalence of Educational Qualification, if applicable.
• Valid caste/Category certificate, if applicable.
• Disability Certificate for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) in the prescribed format, if applicable.
• Any other relevant document mentioned in the application form or required for document verification.
23. Candidates shall be allowed to appear for the interview only upon submission of a copy of the application form and the original certificates/documents. Failure to produce the required documents shall result in disqualification of the candidate.
24. During document verification, photographs, scanned copies, or digital copies of original documents stored on mobile phones, tablets, laptops, or any other electronic devices shall not be accepted as valid proof.
25. Candidates must have a valid personal e-mail ID and mobile number, which should remain active throughout the completion of the project staff selection process. The call letter, interview schedule, and other relevant communications may be sent through the registered e-mail ID or mobile number. Candidates who do not have a valid e-mail ID are advised to create one before submitting the online application and keep it active until completion of the recruitment process.
26. The decision of the Director, CSIR-IITR, Lucknow, shall be final and binding on all candidates in respect of eligibility, acceptance/rejection of applications, screening, method of selection, conduct of the engagement process, and all other matters related thereto.
27. Mere fulfilment of the minimum eligibility criteria or appearing in the interview shall not confer any right upon a candidate for selection.
28. Depending upon the number of applications received, the Institute reserves the right to adopt appropriate criteria for screening / shortlisting candidates for appearing in the interview.
29. The decision of the Selection Committee shall be final, binding, and conclusive. No correspondence or representation in this regard shall be entertained.
30. Important: Under no circumstances shall candidates arriving after 10:00 AM on the scheduled date of the interview be permitted to appear for the interview.
