DBT Project Vacancy under the Transnational Bioinformatics Group at ICGEB

Applications are invited from eligible candidates with prior experience in bionomics research for the following project vacancies under the Transnational Bioinformatics Group at ICGEB, New Delhi. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team focused on leveraging advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning frameworks to decode complex biological mechanisms, analyze large-scale mull-omics data, and develop predictive tools for health informatics applications novo-nordisk-files-lawsuit-against-eli-lilly-over-glp-1-drug-advertisements

Minimum Educational Qualification and Experience Position #1 and 2: Sr. Project Scientist
Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Data Science, or a closely related quantitative field. First class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate discipline, or M.Tech. with first class or equivalent and six years of relevant experience.
Consolidated Salary : Rs.77,152/- per month (inclusive of HRA)

Essential / Desirable Experience : Position #1:
The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day research activities and must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven experience with AI for the classification of biological datasets is required. Experience in Designing, training, and validating AI/ML architectures (including Deep Learning, GNNs, or Transformers) tailored for biological sequences, structural biology, or clinical datasets, including image data sets. Experience in maintaining rigorous code repositories (GitHub/GitLab), writing technical documentation, and contributing to peer-reviewed scientific publications.

Position #2
The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day research activities and must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven experience is required in one or more omics data analysis areas, including single-cell and bulk RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChlP-seq, spatial omics, proteomics, metabolomics, genomics, imaging data, or clinical data. Strong proficiency in Python and R/MATLAB is expected, along with hands-on experience in applying machine learning and deep learning techniques to biological data. Demonstrated expertise in biological data mining, preprocessing, and preparation for downstream analyses is also required.

Position #3 : Project Associate I
The candidate should have a Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Data Science, or a closely related quantitative field, and experience working on bioinformatics or computational biology projects.
Consolidated Salary : Rs. 31,750/- per month (inclusive of HRA)

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an in-person interview at ICGEB, New Delhi. Only selected candidates will be informed individually.
