Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for a fully funded PhD position under the BITS Pilani IIT Roorkee Joint Ph.D. program to work in the following project entitled “Rewiring Microalgal metabolism via Adaptive Laboratory Evolution for Flue Gas Valorization” under the supervision of Dr. Supratim Ghosh (Supervisor, BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus) and Prof. Krishna Mohan Poluri (Co-supervisor, IIT Roorkee). The project will involve work related to microalgal cultivation and metabolomics which includes understanding the inner metabolic constraints of the organism when grown under high levels of CO2.

Essential Qualification : MTech/M.E. in Biotechnology/Biochemical Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Environmental Engineering/Bioprocess Technology or M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Life Sciences from a recognized university, with minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
Desired Skills : Prior experience in Algal cultivation / Biotechnology / Biological CO2 sequestration / Metabolomics.
Age Limit : 28 Yrs. Age relaxation : The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled castes/Tribes/OBC, women and Divyang candidates
Fellowship : 37,000 + 30% HRA per month Annual Contingency: 20,000/-

Notes
1. The student will be registered at BITS Pilani and, upon successful completion of all programme requirements, the PhD degree will be awarded by BITS Pilani.
2. The duration of the Ph.D. student's stay at IIT Roorkee will be mutually decided by the supervisor and Co-Supervisor based on the requirements of the research work. However, student is expected to spend at least 6 months, which could be extended up to 24 months at IIT Roorkee during the course of the PhD program.
