National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, New Delhi and Bioversity International-India, New Delhi in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Association for Agricultural Research Insti-tutes Bangkok, are organizing the Eighth International Training Course on In Vitro and Cryopreservation Approaches for Conservation of Plant Genetic Resources’ from Nov. 5-19, 2019.

Post : Project Scientist II (1 No.)

Applications are invited to attend walk-in-interview for the Project Scientist-II (1 No) and Scientific Administrative Assistant/ field worker (1 No) positions under the DBT funded project “Mapping and mobilization of leaf rust resistance genes from Indian landraces to broaden the genetic base for improvement of wheat varieties” at ICAR- NBPGR, New Delhi. The eligibility qualifications, emoluments and other details of the position are given below.

Project name : Mapping and mobilization of leaf rust resistance genes from Indian landraces to broaden the genetic base for improvement of wheat varieties 
The post is sanctioned from 31st July, 2025 to 30th July, 2029
Salary : Rs 67000/+24% HRA Increment of 5 % for every 2 years of experience subject to performance review
Essential : • Doctoral degree in Science with specialization in Plant Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Bioinformatics, Life Sciences or any other related field from a recognized university or equivalent; and 
• 3 years of experience in research and development in industrial and academic institutions or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and services.  
Desirable Qualification :  Experience in molecular biology and bioinformatics tools and techniques as proven by published research papers.


Age limit : 40 years 
Age relaxation : Age limits are relaxable to women for 5 years, SC/ST (5 yeas), OBC (3 years), Physically Challenged (10 years) as per Government of India rules/ICAR rules.

Terms and Conditions
• Candidates are requested to ensure their eligibility like age, qualification etc. before appearing for the interview 
• Candidates having essential qualification will only be considered for interview. 
• No TA/DA and official accommodation will be provided for appearing in the interview. 
• The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The selected candidate has no right to claim for regularization or absorption whatsoever in ICAR/NBPGR 
• The decision of the Director of the institute will be final and binding in all aspects. 
• The Director reserves the right to terminate the contract of job as mentioned above, even before the completion of the project, for which no appeal thereof shall be entertained. 
• Candidates are required to submit an application at the time of interview with full bio-data, affixing a passport-size photograph on the top. The originals will be verified at the time of the interview. 
• If any information of the candidate is found to be incorrect or concealing any facts, his/her candidature to the interview/ selection to the post is liable to be cancelled at any stage. 
• Emoluments may be paid as per satisfaction of the work by the PI and fund availability by the funding agency. 
• In case of any disputes, it will be resolved in the jurisdiction of New Delhi
