National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi is an Autonomous Research Institution under the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC) and is funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, to pursue research on various frontier areas of Plant Biology such as, climate resilient agriculture, plant health and immunity, nutrient use efficiency, biofortification and other emerging areas. The objective of the institute is to conduct high-quality research in the frontier areas of plant biology with the aim of having practical application in crop improvement. Post : Technical Assistant (TA) (one post)
Candidates are invited to appear before the selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary position of one Technical Assistant (TA) in the scheme of “Development of climate resilient chickpea and brassica by gene editing” at NIPGR under the supervision of Dr. Niranjan Chakraborty, INSA Senior Scientist and Dr. Subhra Chakraborty, Distinguished Scientist, BRIC-NIPGR.
Emoluments : 30,000/- (consolidated).
Qualification : Candidates having Bachelor’s degree or Integrated MSc in Plant biology/Botany/Genetics/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Agriculture/life sciences/ Bioinformatics are eligible to apply.
Desirable Criteria : Basic knowledge of molecular biology tools/ techniques and handling plants tissue cultures will be preferred.
The above position is completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended based on assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.
Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi – 110 067 on August 11, 2025 at 11: 00 a.m. along with the duly filled in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form along with the educational mark sheet, certificate etc. must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on August 11, 2025. Any candidate reporting after 11:00 a.m. will not be entertained for walk-in-interview. The candidate must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data, publications in copy and original degree/experience certificates and transcripts.
Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
Note : Incomplete application and those in the wrong format will be summarily rejected. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
