National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi is an Autonomous Research Institution under the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC) and is funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, to pursue research on various frontier areas of Plant Biology such as, climate resilient agriculture, plant health and immunity, nutrient use efficiency, biofortification and other emerging areas. The objective of the institute is to conduct high-quality research in the frontier areas of plant biology with the aim of having practical application in crop improvement. The institute provides a supportive environment for academic growth, fostering innovative thinking and collaborative research.
Post : Research Associate-II (one post)
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position in the DBT project entitled “Deciphering role of post-translational modifications and plasma membrane and auxin response regulator cross-talk in chickpea wilt disease”, under the supervision of Dr. Subhra Chakraborty, Distinguished Scientist, NIPGR. The details of position are as under
Emoluments : Rs. 61000/- plus 27% HRA per month, as sanctioned in the project.
Qualification : Candidates having Ph. D (doctoral) Degree in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Plant Science/Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics or equivalent from recognised University and fulfilling the guidelines as per DST-OM number DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated June 26, 2023, are eligible to apply.
Desirable Qualifications : Candidates having research experience in the area of Molecular Biology, Gene Function analysis, Protein Chemistry, Mass Spectrometry based Proteomics, Metabolomics, Next- Generation Sequencing (NGS), GWAS Analysis, Computational Analysis of Multiomics Data and Crop Genetic Improvement and gene-editing, with at least one first author publication will be preferred.
The above position is completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above position is as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST norms. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier, and tenure of the post can be curtailed based on the assessment of the candidate's performance and the discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR
Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067 on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. onwards along with the duly filled in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form along with self-attested copies of the date of birth, educational & experience certificates must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on August 20, 2025. Any candidate reporting after 11:00 a.m. will not be entertained for walk-in interview. The candidates must ascertain eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data in given format and original degree/experience certificates and transcripts for verification. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to the disqualification of the candidate(s).
Note : Incomplete application and those in the wrong format will be summarily rejected. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
