ICMR intends to engage One Consultant (Scientific-Non Medical) purely on contract basis for managing the work of Nutrition Unit under the Division of RCN.

Educational Qualification & Experience : Masters in Food & Nutrition / Public Health Nutrition / Public Health / Epidemiology / Implementation Science / Biostatistics / Life sciences At least 10 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field (as indicated above)
Note : Ph.D will be considered as 4 years' experience (irrespective of the duration taken to complete the degree). OR Retired Government employees with requisite qualification and who were in the regular Pay Level-10 & above and having at least 10 years’ experience in the required specialization.
Desirable Experience
1. Experience in implementation/operational research
2. Experience of working in Central/State Governments
3. Strong project coordination and project management skills.
4. Knowledge of Computer applications and statistical Packages
5. Willing to travel to different field locations
Age limit : 40 to 70 years
Remuneration : Between Rs. 1,00,000 - Rs.1,80,000/- per month (Consolidated)
This will be decided by the Selection Committee on the basis of Educational Qualification, Experience and performance in the interview.
For retired Government employees, the remuneration will be fixed in accordance with the Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure OM No. 3-25/2020-E.IIIA dated 09 Dec 2020 as amended from time to time.
Tenure of Engagement : One year (May be extended as per the requirement).
Nature of Duties
1. To support the planning, coordination and management of activities across multiple research and programmatic initiatives within the Nutrition Unit.
2. To oversee the implementation of standard protocols, ensuring compliance with timelines, ethical guidelines and quality standards.
3. To collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including investigators, partner institutions, and subject matter experts to facilitate smooth functioning of the unit's initiatives.
4. To assist in collation, compilation, and synthesis of data and information from ongoing studies, surveys, and nutrition-related programs.
5. To contribute to data analysis and preparation of reports, technical documents, publications, and policy briefs for dissemination and strategic use.
6. To provide technical support and mentorship to research staff and interns, ensuring methodological rigor and quality control in all outputs.
7. To undertake periodic field visits for monitoring, supervision, and capacity building related to the unit’s research and implementation activities.
8. To undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Nutrition Unit or Division to support broader goals and priorities.
