ASCRIN is an initiative between La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia, and Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani
Project Title : Biomarker-based Monitoring of Biomethanation for Enhanced Process Control and Product Yield
Project Description : This project aims to monitor biomethanation through biomarker-based techniques to enable real-time insights into microbial community dynamics and metabolic activities. Moving beyond conventional kinetic models, the study will employ advanced tools like fluorescent and gas-based reporter systems, high-throughput sequencing, and substrate-specific labeling.

Essential Qualification : M.Tech/ M.E/ M.Sc in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Molecular Biology/ Life Sciences/ Environmental Biotechnology/ Environmental Science from a recognized university, with > 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
Desirable Qualification : Specialization and work experience in anaerobic digestion/ biomethanation/ microbiology/ biochemistry/ molecular biology.
Fellowship : @ BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus : INR 37,000 - 42,000 + 24% HRA per month.
@La Trobe University : Full-fee research scholarship, covering tuition fee. Return economy airfare and health insurance.
