Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, in 1916, through close cooperation with great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was established by the Parliamentary legislation-B.H.U. Act 1915.
Post : Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
Applications are invited for one post of Project Research Scientist (Non-Medical) to work in an ICMR sponsored research project entitled “Regulation of DNA methylation in Parkinson’s Disease through Mucuna pruriens”. The post is temporary and co-terminus with the project, which is sanctioned for up to three years.
The selected candidate will be appointed for one year, which may be extended based on performance.
Salary : Rs.56,000/- + 20% HRA per month as per ICMR rules.
Essential Qualification and Experience :
• First-class postgraduate (PG) degree in Life Sciences or a related field, including Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Neurobiology along with the relevant research experience.
Desirable Qualifications : • Ph.D. in the relevant field (Life Sciences/Biochemistry/Neuroscience/Epigenetics).
• At least 2 years of research experience.
• Hands-on experience in epigenetic work such as Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP), DNA methylation techniques, and related molecular biology methods.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years (Relaxable for 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates as per GOI rules).
