JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, formerly known as JSS University, is a Deemed to be University located in Mysuru, Karnataka. It was established in 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and is part of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, which runs a variety of educational institutions. This deemed-to-be university is recognized by MHRD and accredited by NAAC with A+ Grade (3.47 CGPA). JSS AHER has been graded as Category-I Deemed-to-be University by UGC in the Year 2018.
Applications are invited from eligible candidate for the post of Junior Research Fellow for a Research Project entitled “Geriatric chronic cerebral hypoperfusion: Role of short chain fatty acids supplementation on gut-brain axis function, protein misfolding, autophagy and cognition'’, under Public Health and Nutrition Scheme funded by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India New Delhi (Vide No. BT/PR380338/PFN/20/1528/2020 Dated: 22/02/2021) under the supervision of Dr. Saravana Babu C, Associate Professor, Dept, of Pharmacology, JSS College of Pharmacy, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru for a period of three years.

Educational Qualification
M. Pharm (Pharmacology and Biotechnology) with first class
Essential Qualification
1. Candidate with minimum 2 years of industrial experience (preclinical) will be preferred.
2. Publication in peer reviewed or Scopus indexed journals.
3. Contribution in book chapters.
Desired skills
1. Efficient in small animals’ maintenance and handling.
2. Expertise in performing Bilateral Common Carotid Artery Occlusion (bCCAO), Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion (MCAO) surgery in rodents.
3. Expertise in performing rodent behavioural assessments
4. Practical knowledge of Western blot and PCR studies
5. Handling of Any maze software.
Project Tenure : 3 Years
Stipend / Fellowship : The selected candidate will have to join immediately and has to work for 3 years at the Dept, of Pharmacology, JSS College of Pharmacy, & Centre for Experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology (CPT) JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru. The candidate will be paid the stipend of Rs.31,000+16% HRA of Rs.4,960/- per month for first two years followed by Rs.35,000+16% HRA of Rs.5600/- for the third year. The selected candidate will be allowed to register for PhD programme of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru as per the University procedure.
