Established by Parliament of India through the Central Universities Act (2009), Central University of Gujarat considers its main objectives to be dissemination and advancement of knowledge creation and sharing. Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow with a Fellowship of Rs. 31,000/- + 8 % HRA (if eligible according to DST guidelines) in an ICMR sponsored project entitled “Understanding the molecular determinants of the unique substrate specificity of a potential anti-Leishmanial drug target- Xanthine phosphoribosyl transferase” sanctioned up to 1 year (can be extended to 3 years). The post is temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Essential qualifications : The candidates should have a post graduate degree in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Allied Subjects with at least 55% marks.
The upper Age Limit is 28 Years (relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates). All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules.
Desirable qualifications : NET/GATE/CSIR-JRF/ICMR-JRF qualified, Experience in molecular biology techniques and protein purification, Familiar with Bioinformatics tools like Molecular Docking and Molecular Dynamics Simulations.
