Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU), Gandhinagar invites online applications from eligible and motivated candidates for Research Associate positions under a DST–Government of Gujarat sponsored research project titled “Bio-AI for One Health”, in collaboration with Dhirubhai Ambani University (formerly DA-IICT).
Post : Research Associate (RA) - 01 Post
Minimum Qualifications : Ph.D. (Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning, or related experience in Life Sciences).
Desirable Qualifications : Hands-on experience with omics data analysis; Experience in predictive modeling within the One Health framework and/or AI/ML model development with application to biotechnology, including areas such as image analysis, NLP, or LLMs. Experience in multi-modal datasets across domains such as clinical, agricultural, environmental, and imaging data along with knowledge of data visualization tools and biostatistics for interpretation and communication of scientific findings. Strong programming and analytical skills using tools such as Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other relevant AI/ML frameworks with experience in data preprocessing, model development, training, validation, and performance evaluation. At least one peer-reviewed publication in a reputed journal within a relevant research area; Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate scientific concepts clearly; and Proven capability to write research proposals and grants aligned with funding agency priorities.

Fellowship Duration : Until March 2026 (Extendable as per DST-GoG Approval)
Fellowship / Stipend / Salary : ₹45,000/month (consolidated); approx. ₹1,200 statutory deductions applicable as
per labor laws.

Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on their CV, qualifications and experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview, and the candidates are required to attend at their own expenses, no TA/DA will be provided. This post is purely temporary up to March 2026, however extendable as per DST-GoG approval. Appointment will be made initially for 3 months and further extendable subject to satisfactory performance. It would, therefore, not confer any right for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in the organization.
