Government of Gujarat has recognized the importance of the science of biotechnology and its potentiality. With the vision to develop biotechnology sector and to provide global level opportunities, research and development in the state, the government in the year 2004, established Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission (GSBTM) as a state nodal agency dedicated to biotechnology. It has taken another important leap with a vision to build biotechnology based research and development activities by establishing an independent organization namely, Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC) under the Department of Science and Technology.

Scientist-B
Educational Qualification (Preferable) for Animal Biotechnology : (i) Ph.D. in Science/ Engineering/ Technology/ Veterinary Science/ Pharmacy in any subject mentioned in the Annexure-2 to this advertisement from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or State or a Provincial Act in India; or any other educational institution recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; and (ii) Master’s degree in Science/ Engineering/ Technology / Veterinary Science/ Pharmacy in any subject mentioned in the Annexure-2 to this advertisement with at least 60% marks from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or State or a Provincial Act in India; or any other educational institution recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956;
Age : not be more than 40 years of age
Knowledge of Computer : Candidate must possess certificate/marksheet of basic knowledge of Computer from training institute or should have results with computer as a subject in degree or diploma curriculum from Government approved University or should have passed 10th or 12th examination with computer as a subject as prescribed by GAD in Government Resolution No. CRR/10-2007/08/2008 dated 13/08/2008
Language Proficiency : Candidate should have adequate knowledge in Gujarati or Hindi or both.

Educational Qualification (Preferable) for Animal Biotechnology : Possess a Master’s degree in Science/ Engineering/ Technology / Veterinary Science/ Pharmacy in any subject mentioned in the Annexure-4 to this advertisement with at least 60% marks from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or State or a Provincial Act in India; or any other educational institution recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956;
Age : Not be more than 37 years of age
Knowledge of Computer : Candidate must possess certificate/marksheet of basic knowledge of Computer from training institute or should have results with computer as a subject in degree or diploma curriculum from Government approved University or should have passed 10th or 12th examination with computer as a subject as prescribed by GAD in Government Resolution No. CRR/10-2007/08/2008 dated 13/08/2008

General Conditions :
(1) All the procedures regarding the recruitment process shall be carried out by GBRC and with the approval of the Chairman, Selection Committee, where necessary. If any specific issue arises during the entire recruitment process, the decision of the Chairman, Selection Committee and Secretary, Department of Science and Technology shall be final.
(2) Application cannot be withdrawn or changed after it is submitted.
(3) If the candidate has given any wrong details in the application form, his application form will be rejected at any stage and his candidature will be considered cancelled even if he has obtained the qualifying marks or the candidate has been selected.
(4) Gujarat Government employees can apply again and again in connection with this advertisement. But the candidate must inform his department/office without fail and proof of having been informed must be produced when requested by GBRC.
(5) If the need arises to cancel or modify this advertisement for any reason, GBRC shall have the full right/authority to do so and shall not be bound to give reasons for this. Also, in such a case, the application fee paid shall not be refundable.
(6) The candidate will be allowed to appear in the written test only after primary verification based on the information provided by the candidate in this advertisement. In which the candidate's educational qualification such as postgraduate and Ph.D. subjects and marks obtained in postgraduate level will be verified. (The information submitted in the online application will be considered as stated by the candidate. If this information is found to be incorrect at a later stage, the candidate's eligibility will be liable to be cancelled.) Note- Here, primary verification means assuming the application to be correct. The candidate's correctness will be considered only after verification of the original certificates.

Application Fee : (1) In this advertisement, every general category candidate will have to pay an application fee of Rs. 500/- per application and reserved category candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs. 250/- per application. In accordance with this advertisement, if any candidate has not paid the fee or has paid a fee less than the above mentioned fee, then his application will be liable to be rejected.

Appointment :
(1) Candidates will be considered for appointment keeping in mind the selection list. But inclusion in the selection list does not give the right to appointment.
(2) If the candidate is not satisfied even after such inquiry as may be necessary for the post to which he is suitable in all respects, such candidate will not be appointed.
(3) The selected candidate of Scientist B and Accounts cum Administrative Officer cadre will be entitled to regular appointment for a period of two years and the candidates of Technical Assistant and Typist cum Clerk cadre will be entitled to regular appointment on satisfactory completion of the prescribed conditions and service during the probationary period of five years with monthly fixed pay.
(4) The appointed candidate will have to undergo training as per the rules of the institution/as prescribed by the Government and - will have to pass the training examination.
(5) Unless otherwise provided in the advertisement, experience (i.e. experience after completion of studies) shall be considered from the date of obtaining the necessary qualifications, with reference to the last date of receipt of applications.
(6) The appointment of a candidate shall be subject to the Recruitment and Service Rules in force in the respective institution/rules of the Government or as may be made by the Government.
(7) If a candidate does not report for the post for which he is appointed within the stipulated time, his appointment shall be cancelled.
