Inviting applications for Full-Time PhD at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India with scholarship

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, is a self-financing higher educational institution that started its operations in 1953 by establishing the first self-financing medical college as Public Private collaboration model. Over the years various institutions have been added and finally, in June 1993, this group of institutions have been declared as a Deemed to be University by the Govt. of India. Its excellent track record in academics, infrastructure, and research contributions and its standing in the national and international rankings, culminated in it being declared as an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University (IoE) by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, in October 2020.

MAHE Manipal offers PhD programs in various disciplines through its constituent institutions & departments, under

• Faculty of Science, Technology & Management
• Faculty of Humanities, Liberal Arts & Social Sciences

The main objective of a PhD program is to not only contribute to the domain but also enable the researcher to develop the competency of conducting research individually or in a group later on. MAHE Manipal encourages research in interdisciplinary areas and the academic program leading to the PhD degree involves course credit requirement and timely research progress presentations, ultimately leading to thesis submission on satisfactory fulfillment of submission requirements. All institutes / departments under MAHE Manipal are well equipped with research facilities.

Eligibility
All candidates MUST have obtained a qualifying degree in full-time mode and a candidate seeking admission to the PhD program MUST fulfill the following eligibility criteria
Indian Qualifications
Degree Qualified
A 1-year/2-semester master's degree programme from an institution / university recognized by UGC / respective regulatory body after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programm OR A 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme from an institution / university recognized by UGC / respective regulatory body after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme OR Equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution recognized by the Regulatory body in that country
Eligibility Criteria : 60% marks in aggregate or its equivalent in master degree
Degree Qualified
4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme from an institution / university recognized by UGC / respective regulatory body
Eligibility Criteria : 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade
Degree Qualified
MBBS/BDS/PharmD degree from an institution / university recognized by UGC / respective regulatory body
Eligibility Criteria : 60% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade

Foreign Qualifications
Candidates with Master’s degrees or equivalent from foreign universities will have to produce a certificate or recognition / equivalency by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) / Commonwealth Universities / International Association of Universities (IAU), as equivalent to the corresponding Indian degrees for the purpose of higher studies.

Scholarship
Probationary period (6 months) : Rs. 25,000 / month
First Year : Rs. 31,000 / month
Second Year : Rs. 31,000 / month
Third Year : Rs. 35,000 / month
