Invites applications for Pharma Apprentice at National Institute of Technology

The Centre for Continuing Education and Skill Development (CCESD), National Institute of Technology Calicut, invites applications from eligible candidates for engagement as Apprentice Trainees for a period of one year under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the rules and amendments made thereunder from time to time.

Instructions to the Candidates
1. Selection Procedure: The applications received will be scrutinized and shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and/or written test, followed by an interview. Selection will be strictly based on academic merit and eligibility. The shortlisted candidates will be required to produce original documents for verification. The engagement is purely for the apprenticeship training period of one year.
2. Age limit as on 09.02.2026 : Graduate : UR-28, OBC-31, SC-33, ST-33
Diploma : UR-30, OBC-33, SC-35, ST-35

3. How to apply : Interested candidates are required to submit their applications online only through the link. No other mode of application will be accepted. Applicants must upload copies of their qualification certificate, proof of date of birth, and a valid ID proof along with the application. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the further stages of the selection process via email or phone. For further details and updates, candidates are advised to visit the official website of the National Institute of Technology Calicut.
4. All correspondence with candidates shall be done through email only. NIT Calicut will not be responsible for any loss of email sent due to invalid/wrong e-mail ID provided by the candidate or delivery email to SPAM/BULK mail folder etc.
5. Only candidates who have completed the qualifying examination as regular candidates and have acquired the requisite qualification on or after the year 2022 shall be considered eligible. The qualifying qualification must have been obtained from a University in India or a State Board recognized by the competent authority. The age limit and all other terms and conditions shall be governed in accordance with the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961, and the rules framed thereunder, as amended from time to time. Applicants are advised to carefully ensure that they satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria and all other requirements specified in this notification prior to submission of the application.

6. Apprentices currently undergoing training or apprenticeship in Govt./Public/Private Sector for a period of one year or more as on date of joining as Apprentices are not eligible to be considered for the above Apprenticeship training. Combining apprenticeship with other institutions is not permitted.
7. Selected candidates must execute a contract of Apprenticeship training as per the provision of the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Amendment Act of 1973.
8. The apprentices will have no claim, whatsoever, for regular employment in NIT Calicut after completion of the training period.
9. Empanelment/Short listing of candidates will be on the basis of information furnished in the email communication. If there is any discrepancy found in name, age, Diploma/Degree percentage & year of passing, caste/tribe, etc., at any stage, it will be considered as disqualification of the candidature and the candidate will have no claim for Apprenticeship training.
10. Candidates will have to produce all the relevant documents in original (proof for date of birth, marks sheets, testimonials & certificates of all educational qualification, caste/tribe/disability certificate, etc., in prescribed format) during document verification, failing which the candidate will be considered disqualified for Apprenticeship training.
