The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
Eligible & interested candidates are invited for ONLINE INTERVIEW (Through MS TEAMS) for the following purely temporary positions of Summer Internship Fellow under the Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR) of DST-SERB, tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu
Student Internship Fellow (One Position)
Project Title : Genomic Improvement of Bacopa Monnieri by Modification of LAS1 and CAS1 Genes for the High Production of Bacoside A and B through CRISPR Cas Genome Editing (GAP-3132)
Duration of Internship : Two Months (Eight Weeks)
Essential Qualification : Candidates in the 1st or 2nd year of their Post-graduation (M.Sc./ M.Tech Biotechnology, Plan Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, Botany or related subjects) Or 4th year of graduation (B. Tech.) from a recognized University are encouraged to apply.
Desirable : Candidates with research experience in Plant tissue culture will be preferred
Monthly Emoluments : Rs. 5000/- pm
Student Internship Fellow (One Position)
Project Title : Decoding the Genetic Architecture of Picrorhiza Kurrooa to Understand Specialized Metabolite Biosynthesis and Adaptation to Alpine Environments (GAP-3146)
Duration of Internship : Two Months (Eight Weeks)
Essential Qualification : Candidates in the 1st or 2nd year of their Post-graduation (M.Sc./ M. Tech Biotechnology, Plan Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, Botany or related subjects. ) Or 4th year of graduation (B.Tech.) from a recognized University are encouraged to apply.

Online Mode of Application and Selection Procedure
1. Filled in Google Form should be submitted by or before 14th Jan 2024 up to 5:00 PM using the following link.
2. Google Form submitted after the scheduled date and time i.e. 14th Jan 2024 up to 5:00 PM shall not be entertained for Online Interview and summarily rejected.
3. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the Online Interview/viva-voce on the date of Online Interview.
4. All applicants/candidates will be required to send a recommendation letter forwarded/endorsed by the head of the institute/department where they are currently studying through email at kota.sri26@gmail.com (for position code 01) and wajid.bhat@iiim.res.in (for position code 02), by or before 17th Jan 2024. After verification of the documents, final list of eligible candidates will be displayed on CSIR-IIIM website www.iiim.res.in on 18th Jan 2024.
5. The shortlisted candidates shall have to be available on the date of the Online Interview, i.e. 22nd Jan 2024, from 9:30 AM onwards and will be called anytime during the allotted time (if any change is there, they will be intimated accordingly).
6. The viva-voce vis-à-vis eligible/shortlisted candidates shall be conducted online through Video Conferencing on Microsoft Teams. However, if a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for Online Interview in proportion to the available vacancies.
7. The candidates have the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
8. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfil the eligibility criteria and possess the mark sheets in the aforesaid subjects should only apply for the Online Interview.
9. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents will be verified. If at a later stage any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled.
10. Institute is not liable to provide accommodation to the selected candidate. However, upon the approval of the Competent Authority, accommodation on paid basis may be provided subject to availability.
