Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra is a Deemed University under Sec. 3 of the U.G.C. Act 1956. The Board of Governors is responsible for the main functions and overall supervision of activities. It comprises representatives of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the U.G.C., the State Government, The Chancellor, the AICTE, The Hindustan Charity Trust and the Institute Faculty. Shri C.K. Birla is the Chairman of the Board of Governors while the Governor of the state of Jharkhand officiates as the Institute's Chancellor.  There's a Technical Council that decides the academic policy of the Institute.

Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (For 1st and 2nd Year) Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for 3rd Year

Interested eligible candidates are requested to send their CV with motivation letter to participate in the selection process for the position of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Govt. of India funded project.

Title of the Project : Mitigation of poor physical and chemical properties of SGLT2 inhibitor by drug-drug cocrystallization with DPP4 inhibitor and comparative pharmacokinetic study with their respective co-administered drug products


Essential Qualifications : Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (M.Pharm / MS in Pharmaceutical Technology / Pharmaceutics etc.) selected through a process described through any one of the following : a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE. b. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE. DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
Desirable qualification : 1. Knowledge on synthesis and characterization of pharmaceutical cocrystals. 2. Knowledge on physicochemical property evaluation of pharmaceutical cocrystals.

Fellowship : Rs. 31,000/- per month +16% HRA for 1st and 2nd Year and Rs. 35000/- +16% HRA for 3rd year (for candidates with GPAT/ GATE or similar other national level ranking certificate).
Tenure : Maximum up to 3 years


Short listing process for Interview : The candidates would be shortlisted for interview based upon their academic, professional background and motivation letter. Applicants will be selected based on an interview conducted by the committee. The recommendations of the committee will be final.

• Interviews will preferentially be held in offline mode only. In special cases interviews may be conducted online mode.
• The candidates would be shortlisted for interview based upon their academic and professional background and intimated through email by 18th January 2023.
• The candidates should carry the original certificate/testimonials at the time of the interview.

• The post is purely temporary in nature and subject to availability of funds and yearly research progress.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
