Pharmacology Faculty Recruitment at AIIMS jammu

AIIMS, Vijaypur, Jammu is an apex healthcare institute, established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) with the aim of correcting regional imbalances in quality tertiary level healthcare in the country and attaining self-sufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education and training.

AIIMS, Vijaypur, Jammu will conduct walk-in-interview for the following faculty posts on contractual basis for a period of one year or till such time the vacancies are filled up through regular appointment, whichever is earlier.

Salary :
1. Professor : Rs. 2,20,000/- per month (consolidated)
2. Additional Professor : Rs. 2,00,000/- per month (consolidated)
3. Associate Professor : Rs. 1,88,000/- per month (consolidated)
4. Assistant Professor : Rs. 1,42,506/- per month (consolidated)

Upper Age Limit :
Professor/Additional Professor : Not exceeding 58 (Fifty Eight) years as on the date of walk-in-interview.
Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor : Not exceeding 50 (Fifty) years as on the date of walk-in-interview.


However, relaxable for Government Servants, Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes up-to 5 years, 3 years for Other Backward Class candidates and 5 years for PWBD candidates subject to the condition that maximum age of the applicant on the crucial date shall not exceed 55 years. No age relaxation to SC/ST/OBC against Unreserved posts. The age concession to the PWBD shall be admissible irrespective of the fact whether the post is reserved for PWBD or not.
• Reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) shall be applicable as per DOPT O.M. No.36039/1/2019-Est t(Res) DOPT dated 19.01.2019. Accordingly, in case of non-availability of EWS candidate for such posts, the post/s reserved for EWS will be filled from available eligible candidates as UR.
• Those who are desirous of availing reservation for EWS, should have Income & Asset certificate on a prescribed format issued by the Competent Authority, issued within financial year 2021-22, i.e. between 01.04.2021 to the date of Walk-in-interview will be considered valid.
• Candidate applying under any of the reserved category viz. SC/ST/OBC/PWBD will be considered subject to submission of valid caste certificate on a prescribed format issued by the Competent Authority at time of interview.
• The vacancies are being advertised in financial year 2021-22, therefore, valid NCL-OBC certificate issued during the period from 01.04.2021 to the date of Walk-in-interview will be considered valid. OBC NCL Certificate issued after the date of Walk-in-interview but within Financial Year 2021-22 will be considered valid provided the same is submitted on or before the date of joining as given in offer letter. No extension in joining will be given to get this certificate issued. Candidates who have NCL-OBC certificate issued before 01.04.2021 will not be considered valid for this Interview. Candidates applying under OBC category must produce the valid caste certificate in the format provided by the DoP&T vide O.M.No.36036/2/2013-Estt(Res.) dated 30.05.2014 and further clarification issued by DoP&T OM No. 36036/2/2013-Estt(Res.) dated 31.03.2016. Certificate must be valid for employment in Central Government Institution. OBC Candidate’s eligibility will be based on castes borne in the Central List of Govt. of India. The OBC certificate should clearly show that the applicant does not belong to the Creamy Layer.”
• The date of Walk-in-interview will be the cut-off date for considering upper age limit, essential qualification & experience as per Recruitment Rules for the respective post as well as validity of cast certificate/EWS certificate as given above.
• The period of experience wherever prescribed shall be counted after obtaining the prescribed qualification.
• The above vacancies are provisional and subject to variation. The Executive Director AIIMS, Vijaypur, Jammu reserves the right to vary the vacancies.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE FOR APPOINTMENT TO FACULTY POSTS (CONTRACTUAL)
FOR MEDICAL CANDIDATES
((i) A medical qualification included in Schedule I & II or part II of the third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (candidates possessing the qualifications included in Part- II of the third Scheduled should also fulfil the conditions specified in Section 13(3) of the Act.
(ii) A postgraduate qualification i. e. MD in Pharmacology or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
(iii) Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD in Pharmacology or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
FOR NON-MEDICAL CANDIDATES
(i) A postgraduate qualification i. e. Masters Degree in Pharmacology/ Drug Assay/ Chemistry/ Biochemistry/Zoology.
(ii) A Doctorate Degree from a recognized university.
(iii) Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the discipline/subject concerned after obtaining the Doctorate Degree.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE FOR THE POST OF PROFESSOR, ADDITIONAL PROFESSOR & ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
A. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION : Essential qualification for the post of Professor, Additional Professor & Associate Professor will remain same as for the post of Assistant Professor of similar discipline.
B.  ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE :
For the post of Professor For Medical Candidates:
Fourteen years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD/MS in the respective discipline/Subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
OR
Twelve years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institute in the subject of specialty after obtaining the degree of M.Ch./D.M. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) in the respective discipline/Subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
OR
Eleven years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty for the candidates possessing 3 years recognized Degree of D.M. /M.Ch. in the respective discipline/Subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.

For Non-Medical Candidates
Fourteen years teaching and/or research experience in discipline/subject after obtaining the doctorate degree.
For the post of Additional Professor For Medical Candidates (For General Discipline)
Ten years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD/MS in or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
For Super Specialty disciplines :
Eight years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of D.M. /M.Ch. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) in the respective discipline/Subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
OR
Seven years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty for the candidates possessing 3 years recognized Degree of D.M. /M.Ch. in the respective discipline/Subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
For Non-Medical Candidates
Ten years teaching and/or research experience in discipline/subject after obtaining the doctorate degree.
For the post of Associate Professor For Medical Candidates (For General Discipline)
Six years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD/MS in or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
For Super Specialty disciplines:-
Four years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of D.M./M.Ch. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) in the respective discipline/Subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
OR
Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty for the candidates possessing 3 years recognized Degree of D.M./M.Ch. in the respective discipline/Subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
For Non-Medical Candidates
Six years teaching and/or research experience in discipline/subject after obtaining the doctorate degree.

Terms & Conditions
The Terms and Conditions of engagement of Retired Faculty Consultant on contract basis in new AIIMS are as follows:
(a) The engagement of retired faculty consultant is purely on contract basis for an initial term of one year from the date of joining duty after acceptance of this contract. The term may be extended by another one year or till the attainment of age of 70 years or till the post is filled by regular appointment, whichever is earliest. The Retired faculty members who may get selected, must be willing to join the institute immediately but not later than one month from the date of issue of appointment letters.
(b) The period of contract is subject to be reduced or extended at the sole discretion of the Competent Authority AIIMS Jammu. The retired faculty consultant will be assigned clinical, teaching and research duties, besides any other work as deemed fit by the Director of the Institute.
(c) The retired faculty consultant will report to the Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS, Jammu.
(d) During the period of contract, retired faculty consultant will be paid a consolidated monthly remuneration as indicated in the letter of engagement subject to satisfactory output. His remuneration shall be all inclusive and subject to deduction of tax at source and/or any other statutory deductions to the extent required under the laws.
(e) Participation of retired faculty consultant in National Seminars/ Conferences would be permissible as per entitlement of regular Faculty. In case retired faculty consultant is also deputed out of station on official assignment, TA/DA would be paid on tour, as admissible, as per entitlement against post last held immediately before retirement.
(f) Retired Facility Consultant will be eligible for thirty (30) days leave in a calendar year, on cumulative basis.
(g) During the period of contract, the engagement is liable to be terminated at any time with a one month notice, without assigning any reason whatsoever. It will be open to the Institute to pay, in lieu of notice, salary for the period by which the notice period falls short. Similarly, the retired faculty consultant may also terminate the contract any time with one month's notice. The termination may be allowed with lesser notice period also provided the retired faculty consultant deposits with the Institute appropriate amount equivalent to the consolidated remuneration of the period by which the notice period falls short, in lieu of the notice period.
(h) Private practice of any kind, including laboratory and consultant practice is prohibited. The retired faculty consultant will not engage himself/herself in any other paid assignment during the validity of this contract.
(i) If at any time, in the opinion of competent authority, which is final in this matter, retired faculty consultant is found non-performing or guilty of any offence, dishonesty, disobedience, disorderly behaviour, negligence, indiscipline, absence from duty without permission or any other conduct considered by the competent authority, deterrent to the interest of AIIMS, Jammu or violation of one or more terms and conditions of this letter, his/her services may be terminated without notice and the competent authority shall be entitled to recover any damages arising out of any act or omission on his/her part, from him/her.
(j) Other conditions of service will be as provided under the Rules, Bye laws and Regulations of the Institute and governed by the relevant rules and orders issued by the Government of India. It may please noted that the retired faculty consultant will be required to conform to the Rules, Bye laws, Regulations, Discipline and Code of Conduct prevailing in the Institute from time to time.
(k) Retired Faculty Consultant will be governed, in respect of any matter relating to the conduct, discipline, in respect of which no provisions have been made in these terms and conditions, the provisions of the Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964 and the Central Civil Services (Classification Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965 as amended from time to time.

(l) Retired Faculty Consultant will be at the disposal of the Institute on whole time basis and his/her services may be utilized in any manner required by the Competent Authority of the Institute without any claims for any additional remuneration.
(m) The Institute will not be responsible for any loss, accident, damages or injury while performing the consultancy assignment including travel.
(n) Retired Faculty Consultant will not have or acquire during validity of this contract either directly or indirectly any outside interest, in any business or otherwise, which could be in conflict with the interest of Institute as a whole or that would be prejudicial to his/her position. Retired Faculty Consultant will declare any interests in, any commercial concern or companies etc. before joining. Failure to do so will entail termination of his/her contract forthwith without prejudice to the right of this Institute for initiation of legal action against him/her as deemed fit.
(o) Retired Faculty Consultant and his/her family members shall not accept any gifts or presentations, directly or indirectly, whether in the form of money, free possession of goods or other benefits from any person or firm with whom he/she is or likely to be, in contract, by virtue of this contract with whom he/she/ has or is likely to have dealings. His/her services would be terminated, if found involved in corrupt practices, besides taking action as per rules/law.
(p) Retired Faculty Consultant will devote his/her whole time and attention exclusively to the duties entrusted to him/her to the best of his/her power, ability and skill. He/ She will acknowledge that his/her position entails absolute confidentiality and therefore during the continuance of this contract/arrangement and/or cessation of this contract for any reasons whatsoever, he/she will not indulge or disclose any information, papers and documents in his/her knowledge and custody to any outsider and maintain absolute confidentiality.
(q) Retired Faulty Consultant is liable to make good any of loss sustained by the Government due to his/her misbehaviour or negligence.
(r) Retired Faculty Consultant will not engage himself/herself in any other paid assignment during the validity of this contract.
(s) Retired Faculty Consultant will not disclose or divulge or make public or shall personally use for any gain any of the materials, processes, accounts, transactions, dealings, information etc. whether the same may be confined to him/her or may become known to him/her during the course of his/her services or otherwise.
(t) In case Retired Faculty Consultant is employed elsewhere, he/she will bring a letter from his/her present employer stating that his/her resignation has been accepted and he/she is relieved.
(u) In case any of the above conditions are violated, the appointment shall automatically stand cancelled.
(v) Upon termination for whatever reasons, Retired Faculty Consultant will forthwith return to Institute all records/documents and papers that are in his/her custody and control, by virtue of his/her engagement and obtain discharge in writing from institute.
(w) Retired Faculty Consultant will not seek or try to secure any other job or employment without previous written sanction/consent of the Institute.
(x) There will be periodical monitoring of the performance of the contractual appointee and in the event that his/her performance is found to be unsatisfactory, his/her contract is liable to be terminated and/or his/her payments withheld till satisfactory progress is achieved by him/her.
(y) This contract shall be governed by the rules, regulations and law of the Government of India.
(z) In the event of any conflict regarding terms of appointment, the decision of the Institute shall be final.
