The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients. Hamdard University is setting up Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (HIMSR) in its campus of Jamia Hamdard at Hamdard Nagar, New Delhi-110062.
Post : Junior Research Fellow
Applications are invited for one position of Junior Research Fellow in the ICMR (EMR) funded project entitled “Mucoadhesive nano-emulsion of dopamine agonists: Novel strategy for targeting mitochondria in Alzheimer’s disease” (Principal Investigator: Prof. Suhel Parvez, Department of Medical Elementology & Toxicology, School of Chemical & Life Sciences, Jamia Hamdard).
Duration : Initially for a period of one year with the provision of further continuation (till duration of the project) subjected to satisfactory performance of the fellow.
Emolument : As per ICMR norms.
Minimum Qualification :
1) First class M.Sc. Toxicology/Life Sciences
2) Qualified NET – JRF/LS examination of CSIR / UGC / ICMR and other recognized agencies
Desirable : Experience in neurobehavioral and surgical models of rodents.
