National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi is an Autonomous Research Institution funded by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, to pursue research on various aspects of plant genomics. The Institute is also in the process of establishing a NIPGR Translational Centre at Biotech Science Cluster, NCR, Faridabad. NIPGR invites applications from Indian Citizens for filling up the vacant posts on Direct Recruitment basis, as detailed below. The posts are temporary but likely to continue.

Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the walk-in-interview, for filling up the purely temporary positions in the respective projects under the supervision of Dr. Jyothilakshmi Vadassery, Scientist, NIPGR.

Indo-German Max Planck project (German Grant) “Calcium regulated plant defense strategies upon insect pest attack”.

Research Associate : RA-III (one post)

Emoluments : as per sanction and DST/DBT norms

Eligibility: Candidates having doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in the discipline of Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Biology or equivalent with strong publication record can apply. The candidates must have knowledge in structural biology with publications to support the same. An experience on working with membrane proteins is desirable

DBT project entitled “Plant Analytical Platform for Phytohormones and Low Abundant Molecules”, (PAPM) under RRSFP.

Technical Assistant : TA (One post)

Emoluments : as per sanction and DST/DBT norms.

Eligibility : The candidate must possess M. Sc./M. Tech. degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Chemistry or a related field (minimum 60% marks), duly supported with research work. The candidates having prior work experience in metabolomics (LC-MS, GC-MS) will be preferred. The candidate will be involved in day-to-day running of the metabolome facility.

The fellowship amount for the above positions is at par with the similar fellowships by DST/DBT or as sanctioned in the project. The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project/scheme whichever is earlier, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidates. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointments may be terminated any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067 on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 09:30 a.m. along with complete bio-data. The duly filled application form must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 09:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on January 25, 2019. Any candidate reporting after 10:30 a.m. will not be entertained for walk-in-interview. The candidate must ascertain their eligibility, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data, original degree certificates, experience etc and submit a copy of the relevant documents with biodata. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
