Vacancy for Masters degree in Life Sciences to work in Cancer research at RGCB

The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) is a growing phenomenon. Located in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala, RGCB began in 1990 amongst humble surroundings as a small charitable society called the Centre for Development of Education, Science and Technology (C-DEST). In 1991, recognizing its potential, the C-DEST was made a “Grant-in-Aid” institute of the Government of Kerala and renamed as Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Development of Education, Science and Technology (RGC-DEST), becoming the first institute in the country to be named after Sri Rajiv Gandhi, the young illustrious and visionary former Prime Minster of India.

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Project Fellow in a KSCSTE funded metagenomics project entitled "Mechanistic evaluation and in vivo validation of the anticancer principle isolated from chromolaena odorata cervical cancer" in the Laboratory of Dr. Ruby John Anto at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :
Candidates must have a first class Master's Degree in Life Sciences. The candidate must have minimum 6 months documented research experience, other than M.Sc. project work, in animal cell culture

AGE :  Below 28 years as on 15th January, 2018 . Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.

EMOLUMENT:  14,000/- + 10% HRA per month.

DURATION :  Initial appointment will be given for one year and further extension up to maximum of 2 years will be given based on the performance.

 

Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a written test will be conducted before the selection interview and only those who are successful in the written test will be interviewed. No TA/ DA will be given for appearing in the interview.

Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format with a photograph, a copy of full resume indicating the percentage of Marks obtained and attested photocopies of credentials & experience to reach the undersigned on or before 15th January, 2018. Envelopes must be superscripted with abbreviated title of the project, advertisement number and job title. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
