CSIR- National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow, a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), is a premier plant science research institute, involved in multidisciplinary R&D programmes of both basic and applied nature across scientific disciplines for economic, environmental and societal benefits for the people of India. CSIR-NBRI undertakes basic and applied research in strategically important areas of plant sciences.

Eligible & interested candidates are invited for interview for the purely temporary positions under the following sponsored projects tenable at CSIR‐NBRI:‐

Area I: Project entitled, “CSIR‐Phytopharmaceutical Mission”
Project Assistant level –II
Area : Plant Taxonomy
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. (55%) in Botany/ Biotechnology/ Plant Science.
Desirable : Experience in Survey and collection/Taxonomy of higher plants
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/‐p.m + HRA

Project Assistant level –II
Area : Chemistry , Pharmacognosy & Pharmacology
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. (55%) in organic chemistry/biochemistry /Pharmacology/Pharma cognosy /Botany / Plant Science / M. Pharma (55%)
Desirable : Experience in Pharmacognosy/metab olite profiling/ chemoprofiling of medicinal plants using HPTLC/ HPLC / gas chromatography/ GCMS/ NMR spectroscopy/ Handing of small animals and testing of herbal products.
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/‐p.m + HRA

Project Assistant level –II
Area : Agriculture Sciences
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc/M.Sc. (Ag.) (55%) in Agronomy/ Horticulture/Soil Science/ Genetics & Plant Breeding /Botany/Plant Science
Desirable : Research experience in various agricultural and horticultural operations.
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/‐p.m + HRA

Project Assistant level –II
Area : Molecular Biology & Biotechnology
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. (55%) in Botany/ Biotechnology/ Genetics/ Biochemistry/ Life Science
Desirable : Research experience in molecular biology techniques/ molecular markers development and its applications/plant tissue culture
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/‐p.m + HRA

Area II: Project entitled, “Establishment of ENVIS Centre on Indicator of plant pollution in NBRI”
Programme Officer

Essential Qualifications : 1st class M.Sc. In Botany/Life Science/ Environmental Science/Biochemistry with atleast 03 years experience after M.Sc.
Desirable : Well versed in computer application
Age : 45 years
Stipend : Rs.35079/‐ p.m.

IT officer
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. (55%) in Botany/Life Science/ Environmental Science/Biochemistry with atleast 01 year experience after M.Sc.
Desirable : Knowledge RS/GIS and good knowledge of Computer application
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.23696/ ‐p.m.

Date and Venue of Interview
For Area I on 29‐01‐2018 and for
Area II on 30‐01‐2018 at 11:00 AM in the
Conference Room, T.N. Khushoo Block NBRI, Lucknow

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
a) The Application form will be provided at the venue on the date. However, candidates may download the application form in advance from the website nbri.res.in. At the time of interview candidates should bring one latest photograph, original documents along with self attested copy of certificates of examinations passed (starting from matriculation), certificate indicating date of birth, caste certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC) and experience certificate, etc. Tentative mark sheets/certificates and ‘result awaited’ will not be considered. All eligible candidates are requested to be present at the venue on the said date one hour before the scheduled time for necessary documents verification etc.
b) Mode of Selection: Through Interview. However, if large number of candidates turn up, a Screening test comprising of multiple choice objective questions may be held for short listing the candidates for interview. The short listed candidates will be interviewed by the Selection Committee and, based on the performance in the interview; a panel of recommended candidates will be formed. The panel shall be utilized as and when the requirement arises in the projects in the relevant field/area. Candidates have the option to interact in Hindi/English before the committee. In case of turning up of large no. of candidates, interview may continue for next day.

c) The positions are purely temporary on contract basis and co‐ terminus with the sponsored projects. Further the above stipend(s) is tentative and the same will be finally decided based on the availability/provision of funds in the relevant sponsored projects.
d) In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute.
e) To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degree/mark sheet in the aforesaid subjects should turn up for walk in interview.

No TA/DA will be admissible.
