NIAB, an autonomous institute under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and create knowledge in the cutting edge areas for impr oving animal health and productivity. The Institute’s research focus is on animal genetics and genomics, transgenic technology, reproductive technology, infectious diseases, nutritional enrichment, and bioinformatics. The Institute aims at translational r esearch leading to genetic enhancement of Indian Livestock species and development of novel vaccines, diagnostics and improved therapeutic molecules for farm animals. The Institute plans to promote bio entrepreneurship by providing supportive and stimulati ng academic and creative environment for commercial tenants involved in the development of farm animal based products and services.

Post : Junior Research Fellow
DBT funded project entitled “A study to understand the genetic variations among the field isolates of porcine circo viruses from piggery farms in Mizoram, with ultimate aim to engineer an effective recombinant chimeric DIVA Vaccine”, PI: Dr. Madhuri Subbiah, Scientist-D (Duration - 6 months).
DBT funded project entitled “Elucidation of role of non-structural viral protein (W) of Avian Paramyxoviruses”, PI: Dr. Madhuri Subbiah, Scientist-D (Duration - 3 to 6 months).
Essential qualification: Post Graduate Degree in life sciences with NET qualification or Post Graduate degree in professional course. (Eligibility criteria as per DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-09/2012 dated 21.10.2014). However Non-NET candidates can also apply who will be paid as per their eligibility.
Fellowship amount: Rs.25000/-PM+30% HRA = 32,500/- PM as per the DST guidelines.
Age: 30 years
