CSIR- National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow, a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), is a premier plant science research institute, involved in multidisciplinary R&D programmes of both basic and applied nature across scientific disciplines for economic, environmental and societal benefits for the people of India. CSIR-NBRI undertakes basic and applied research in strategically important areas of plant sciences.

Eligible & interested candidates are invited for interview for the purely temporary positions in the following areas under the sponsored projects tenable at CSIR-NBRI:-

Post: Research Associate, Senior Project Fellow, Project Fellow/Project Assistant Level II/III

Area I: Molecular Biology & Biotechnology
Post:
Senior Project Fellow/SRF
Education: M.Tech (55%) in Bioinformatics or M.Sc.(55%) in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics /Life Science/ Biochemistry/Botany with 2 years post M.Sc. research experience and atleast one publication in SCI Journal .
Age limit: 35 years
Stipend: Rs.18000/- p.m. + HRA or Rs.28000/p.m.+ HRA Para (C) of term & conditions

Post: Project Assistant Level II/JRF/Project Fellow
Education: For PA II: M.Sc. (55%) in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics /Life Science/Biochemistry/Botany/ Plant science/ Biological Science/Microbiology. For JRF: M.Sc. in any of above subject with CSIR/UGC/ ICAR/DBT NET-JRF/LS qualifications
Age limit: 30 years
Stipend: Rs.12000/-p.m. or Rs.25000/p.m.+ HRA Para (C) of term & conditions

1). The candidates selected for the position of SPF/SRF & Project Fellow Level II will be engaged in the project entitled, “Studies on genome wide epigenetic variations in natural populations of west Himalayan Arabidopsis thaliana along with altitudinal gradient”or Genomics of Medicinal plants and Agronomically important traits (PlaGen)”following or other projects if needed.
2). The candidates selected for the position of PA II/JRF will be engaged in the project entitled, “Anacardic Acid: A potential molecule to increase cotton fiber yield an quality” and “Development of F1-Hybrid cotton using Novel reversible male sterility system” and “Exploring transcriptional regulators involved in prickle formation in Solanum khasianum” and “Tomato ripening Network: Targeted manipulation of SIERF6 and SIERF8 in tomato: their role in regulating fruit ripening and productivity”following or other projects if needed.

 

Area II : Biodiversity & Bioprospection :
Post:
Project Assistant level II/JRF (Project)
Education:
For PA II: M.Sc.(55%) in Botany/ Microbiology/ Environmental Science/Plant Science / Organic Chemistry/Biochemistry.
For JRF: M.Sc. in any of above subject with CSIR/UGC/ ICAR/DBT NET-JRF/LS qualifications
Age limit: 30 years
Stipend: Rs.12500/- p.m or Rs. 12000/-p.m. or Rs.25000/- p.m+ HRA Para (C) of term & conditions

Post: SRF (Project)
Education:
M.Sc. (55%) in Biochemistry with 2 years post M.Sc. research experience in medicinal plants biochemistry and atleast one publication in SCI Journal or M.Tech (55%) in biotechnology.
Age limit: 35 years
Stipend: Rs.28000/-p.m.+ HRA

1). The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of PA II in the project entitled, “International Consortium for Renewable and Advances Fuel Technology (I-CRAFT)” following or or other projects if needed.
2).The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of PA II/JRF in the project entitled, “Alpine ecosystem dynamics and impact of climate change in Indian Himalaya” & following or other projects if needed.
3). The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of JRF/SRF in the project entitled, “Microbial roles in yield management of scented rice of north east India” & following or other projects if needed.

Area III: Ecology & Environmental Sciences:
Post:
Project Assistant Level II
Education:
M.Sc. (55%) in Environmental Science/ Botany/Microbiology
Age limit: 30 years
Stipend: Rs.25000/-p.m. Consolidated

Post: SRF (Project)
Education:
1st class M.Sc. in Botany/ Plant Science/ Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Biochemistry/ Environmental Science/Ecology
Age limit: 35 years
Stipend: Rs. 16000/- p.m. + HRA

1). The candidates selected for the position of Project Assistant Level II will be engaged in the project entitled, “Development of Low Grain Arsenic Rice Cultivar for Arsenic Contaminated Areas” following or other projects if needed.
2). The candidates selected for the position of SRF (Project) ”Role of Micro-climate in Soil Carbon Sequestration in Two Pulses in Indo-Gangetic Plains of Uttar Pradesh” following or other projects if needed.

Age : Age of the candidate will be reckoned as on date of walk in interview. However, Age relaxation for all the positions as per Government of India/CSIR instructions.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
HRA will be admissible as per sanction of the projects.

a) The Application form will be provided at the venue on the date. However, candidates may download the application form in advance from the website www.nbri.res.in. At the time of interview candidates should bring one latest photograph, original documents along with self attested copy of certificates of examinations passed (starting from matriculation), certificate indicating date of birth, caste certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC) and experience certificate, etc. Tentative mark sheets/certificates and 'result awaited' will not be considered. All eligible candidates are requested to be present at the venue on the said date one hour before the scheduled time for necessary documents verification etc.

b) Mode of Selection: Through Interview. However, if large number of candidates turn up, a Screening test comprising of multiple choice objective questions may be held for short listing the candidates for interview. The short listed candidates will be interviewed by the Selection Committee and, based on the performance in the interview; a panel of recommended candidates will be formed. The panel shall be utilized as and when the requirement arises in the projects in the relevant field/area. Candidates have the option to interact in Hindi/English before the committee. In case of turning up of large no. of candidates, interview may continue for next day.

c) The positions are purely temporary on contract basis and co- terminus with the sponsored projects. Further the above stipend(s) is tentative and the same will be finally decided based on the availability/provision of funds in the relevant sponsored projects.

d) In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute.

e) To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degree/mark sheet in the aforesaid subjects should turn up for walk in interview

No TA/DA will be admissible.
