Applications are invited on prescribed format for two positions in Department of Microbiology, KGMU, Lucknow.

Post : Project Research Scientist I (Non-Medical)

Name of Project : Metagenomic Profiling of the Gut Microbiome in Guillain-Barré Syndrome: Identifying Dysbiosis and Potential Biomarkers

Age : As per ICMR guideline

Essential qualification : Post Graduate Degree in Life sciences, including the integrated PG degree, with 3 years post qualification experience Or PhD in Life Sciences/Microbiology/Biotechnology.

Desirable qualification : i. Doctorate Degree in Medical Microbiology/Microbiology/Biotechnology from a recognized university for candidates with first class relevant degree.
ii. Post-doctoral research or advanced training in relevant area.
iii. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Data Management.
iv. Three years R&D / Teaching experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification.
v. Hand-on research experience in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), metagenomic data analysis, and microbiome related bioinformatics tools.
vi. Experience in bacteriology and molecular biology techniques.

Emoluments : Rs. 56,000/-+20% HRA = Rs. 67,200/- per month.

The above positions are purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis. The selected candidates shall have no right /claim for regular appointment at this Institute, as the engagement is co-terminus with the project.

NOTES : i. PhD degree in relevant subjects shall be treated equivalent to three years’ experience.
ii. Candidates with PhD degree will be preferred
