The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) has been established as an autonomous Institution under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India primarily with the objectives of regularly updating the Indian Pharmacopoeia (an official book for setting standards of drugs in the Country) by publishing new edition and its addenda,   National Formulary of India (reference book for rational use of generic medicines) and carrying out other related tasks such as providing Reference Substances to the stakeholders and conducting skill development programmes. The Commission also functions as National Coordination Centres (NCC) for Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) and Materiovigilance Programme of India (MvPI) for ensuring safety of drugs and medical devices, respectively, in the Country.

• Engineering (BE/ME/B.TECH/M.Sc./MS/PhD in biomedical, clinical, medical electronics, instrumentation, etc.
• Nursing (ANM/GNM/B.Sc/M.Sc.)

Internship Duration / Training Fee
Short-Term : 3 months :- Rs. 3000/-
Mid-Term : 6 months :- Rs. 6000/-
Long-Term : 1 year :- Rs. 12,000/-

Duties and responsibilities during the internship period
1.The prime task of research scholar/project trainee shall be supporting the coordinator/management of the monitoring centers & peripheral hospitals/clinics in order to improve quality, quantity and frequency of adverse event reporting within the available resources of their institution.   
2. Research scholar/project trainee must maintain a minimum attendance of 75%. Excellence certificates will be awarded to those with outstanding reporting and attendance above 90%.   
3. The research scholar/project trainee shall visit hospital premises such as nursing stations/wards/ICUs/ operation theaters/lab & other clinical departments as and when required as instructed by the coordinator/deputy coordinator.   
4. Research scholar/project trainee shall carryout/assist awareness programs to healthcare professionals under the supervision of coordinator/deputy coordinator/concern authorities from MDMC, peripheral hospitals/clinics & NCC-MvPl, IPC.   
5. Research scholar/project trainee shall maintain a proper relationship with healthcare professionals as per the code of conduct of organization/Hospital/MDMC/AMC & peripheral hospital/clinic.   
6. Research scholar/project trainee shall work on the baseline study circulated by NCC-MvPI with the support of the concern coordinator/deputy coordinator, whether any of the defective products are available in MDMC/nearby hospital and update the same to coordinator/deputy coordinator to take the necessary action as mentioned in alert/recall/field safety notice.   
7. Research scholar/project trainee shall submit project report to the coordinator/deputy coordinator for their review & final copy to IPC at the end of the project.   
8. Research scholar/project trainee shall keep the data generated through research/project confidential and shall not publish/present in public meetings until prior approval from NCC-MvPI is obtained  
9. The research scholar/project trainee shall have to obtain necessary approval from the coordinator/deputy coordinator at the site where research work/project is proposed to carry out.
10. Research scholar/project trainee shall Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information, including personal data and avoid situations that may create a conflict of interest, including personal, financial, or professional relationships that may influence decision-making. 

• The fee shall be paid by the selected interns within 5 days of the receipt of email confirmation from NCC-MvPI.
• No remuneration/Accommodation shall be provided during the internship.
• Fee once paid shall not be refunded.
