The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is committed to advanced research with a view to understand body's defense mechanisms for developing modalities of immune system manipulation that can intervene with disease processes. The institute’s research thrust areas under immunology and related disciplines cluster in four main themes, namely, infection and immunity, molecular design, gene regulation and reproduction and development, where cutting edge research in modern biology is being carried out employing multiple overlapping disciplines of biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology and structural biology.

Educational Qualifications :
1) Senior Research Fellow (Project) : Essential qualification : Master’s degree in a field related to Biological / Life Sciences with 2 years of research experience. Candidates must have extensive experience in immunological assays such as FACS, molecular biology and or the analysis of next-generation sequencing data and immunological assays. Candidates must have cleared any national level exams.
Desirable qualification : Candidates with publications in reputed journals will be preferred.
2) Junior Research Fellow (Project) : Essential qualification : Master’s degree in a field related to Biological / Life Sciences. Candidates must have extensive experience in immunological assays such as FACS, molecular biology and or the analysis of next-generation sequencing data and immunological assays. Candidates must have cleared any national level exams.
Desirable qualification : Candidates with extensive experience in flowcytometry, genomics assays, and next-generation sequencing data analysis will be preferred.
Job description : Experience in molecular biology, recombinant DNA, protein chemistry. Handling of mammalian cell lines and cell culture techniques. Candidates with experience in live cell and confocal microscopy, proteomics, malaria parasite cultures are also encouraged to apply.
Emoluments : The candidates, if selected will draw consolidated emoluments as per Institute Rules, depending upon qualifications & experience
Senior Research Fellow (Project) : Rs.42,000/- per month plus 27% HRA
Junior Research Fellow (Project) : Rs.37,000/- per month plus 27% HRA (As per DST OM dated 26.06.2023))
General Terms & Conditions
1. The candidates selected for the above posts will be on contract for one year or duration of the project whichever is shorter, at a time.
2. No hostel/ housing facility will be provided.
3. Applicants may clearly mention the category they belong to i.e. UR/SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach documentary proof of the same.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, if called for.
5. Apart from sending application in the prescribed format given below, candidates should send complete Curriculum Vitae along with the names of three referees. Curriculum Vitae should contain details of the experimental expertise and list of publications.
