Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (J.S.S.C.) has been constituted by the state Staff Selection Commission Act 2008which was published vide Gazette notification no. 829 dt. 6 December 2008 of state Government. The Act was amended by Jharkhand Act 03,2011 and Jharkhand Act 19,2011; published vide Gazette notification nos. 153 dt. 24 February 2011 and 687 dt. 11 October 2011 respectively.
Post : Pharmacist
Online applications are invited for the Combined Competitive Examination-2025 for the recruitment of paramedical staff in the prisons of Jharkhand State, for the selection of eligible candidates against the vacancies of Pharmacists, Compounders, as notified by the Home, Prisons and Disaster Management Department, Jharkhand vide letter no. 5821 dated 12.09.2025, and forwarded by the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language vide letter no. 06/K.Ch.A.-02-05/2024 Ka-5729 (Anu.) dated 25.09.2025. Candidates can apply as per their eligibility, fulfilling the prescribed educational qualifications and age limit.
Pharmacist

Pay Scale : Level-5 (29,200-92,300)
Qualification : a) Passed Diploma in Pharmacy course with I.Sc./10+2 (Science) or passed Diploma in Pharmacy course with Matriculation examination passed before the year 1994.
b) The above-mentioned diploma must be awarded by an institution established by law and recognized by the government.
c) The candidate must be registered with the Pharmacy Council of Jharkhand state or other states.
Compounder
No of post : 10
Pay Scale : Level-2 (19,900-63,200)
Qualification : a) Passed Diploma in Compounder course with I.Sc./10+2 (Science) or passed Diploma in Pharmacy course with Matriculation examination passed before the year 1994.
b) The above-mentioned diploma must be awarded by an institution established by law and recognized by the government.
c) The candidate must be registered with the Pharmacy Council of Jharkhand state or other states.
Age Limit :
(a) Age in respect of the above posts will be calculated on the basis of the following reference dates:-
(i) Reference date for calculating minimum age limit - 01.08.2025
(ii) Reference date for calculating maximum age limit - 01.08.2025
(b) Minimum age limit : 18 years.
(c) Maximum age limit – (as determined by the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language, Resolution No. 29, dated 04.01.2021)
(i) Unreserved and economically weaker sections : 35 years.
(ii) Extremely Backward Class (Scheduled-1) and Backward Class (Scheduled-2) [Male] : 37 years.
(iii) Female [Unreserved, Aa. K.W..A. P. And. (Ans.-1) and P. And. (Article-2)] : 38 years.
(iv) Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste (Male and Female) : 40 years.
The examination fee is Rs. 100/- (One hundred rupees).
Examination Fee Exemption : The examination fee for Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste candidates of Jharkhand state is Rs. 50/- (Fifty rupees). If candidates from categories other than Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste, who are residents of Jharkhand state, pay the examination fee at the concessional rate, their application will be cancelled and their candidature will be terminated. Applications will not be accepted without payment of the examination fee and will be liable to be cancelled. The examination fee is non-refundable.
Eligibility : Permission to appear in the examination will be purely provisional. The issuance of an admit card for the examination does not certify that the candidate fulfills the eligibility criteria for selection to the advertised post, as the Commission may verify the certificates related to the candidate's eligibility at any time after the examination. Failure to appear for the scheduled verification will result in the cancellation of the candidate's candidature. If the eligibility certificates filled in the application are not submitted within the stipulated period, or if the certificates are not valid within the stipulated period, reservation/other benefits will not be granted, and the Commission may decide to cancel the candidate's candidature.
Reservation : Reservation benefits will not be granted if the claim for reservation is not indicated under the designated entry in the application.
Important guidelines for filling online application
(i) Before filling the application form, the candidate should download the advertisement and brochure and enter the information in the application form as per the terms and conditions of the brochure.
(a) After reading the brochure carefully, before filling the application, the candidate should ensure that the certificates required for the application are available with him.
(b) Before submitting the application, keep a scanned copy of your photograph and complete signature with you.
(c) Check all the certificates carefully to ensure that their name, father's name and other details are correct, otherwise get them corrected before filling the application.
(ii) Applicants will write the spelling of their name as per the Matriculation/10th certificate/mark sheet. There should not be any difference in the spelling of the name mentioned in the Matriculation/10th certificate/accard and the name filled in the application form. In the information related to name in the application, words like Shri/Mister/Shriman etc. should not be used in front of the name.
(iii) Applicants will enter the same date of birth i.e. date, month and year as mentioned in their matriculation certificate/ac certificate in the prescribed space of their application form.
Various Dates for Completing the Application Process : The dates for completing the various stages of the online application form are as follows :
a) For registration and entering information: From January 08, 2026 to February 07, 2026 (midnight).
b) For paying the examination fee, uploading the photograph and signature, and taking a printout of the application form: Until midnight of February 09, 2026.
c) From February 10, 2026 to February 13, 2026 (midnight), the link will be reopened to allow valid candidates to correct any incorrect entries made in the online application form.
In case of payment of examination fee with a concession, the claim for correction will be limited to the amount of the examination fee paid. Correction of entries in the application
