Research Opportunities at Institute of Nano Science and Technology for Life Sciences, Pharma and Chemistry

Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali (Punjab), an autonomous institution of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has been established under the umbrella of NANO MISSION, initiated by DST to boost research and development in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in India. INST started its activities on 3rd January 2013 from its transit campus at Mohali, Punjab. In the December of 2020, the institute shifted to its state-of-the-art new campus sprawling over 35 acres of land, at Knowledge City, Sector-81 (Mohali, Punjab). Research activities at INST encompass physics, chemistry, biology, and interdisciplinary sciences addressing problems in the field of energy, environment, quantum materials, nano-devices, and chemical biology.

Advertisement for engagement of Project Associate-1 under the ‘DHR-ICMR’ funded project at Institute of Nano Science and Technology Highly motivated and bright candidates are invited for Walk-in-Interview (Online) for engagement of Project Associate-I in the research project funded by ‘DHR-ICMR’.

Post : Project Associate-I
Title of the Research Project : “Development of nanostructured MoS2 based SERS and FET biosensors for ultrasensitive detection of biomarkers for Cerebral Ischemia”
Principal Investigator : Dr Rehan Khan (Scientist-D) and Dr Kiran Shankar Hazra (Scientist-E)

Essential Qualification : M.Sc./M.Tech/ Master Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences Pharmacology/ Biotechnology/ Biosciences/ Physics / Chemistry/ Life Sciences / Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. (A) National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC-NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE. (B) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
Desirable Experience : 1 years’ experience in nanoscience and nanotechnology will be preferred.

Age limit : Must not be over 50 years as on 12.01.2026, which is relaxable for certain reserved categories as per rules of Government of India.
Fellowship : Rs. 31,000/- + HRA (as applicable) p.m. OR Rs. 25,000/- p.m + HRA (as applicable) for those who do not have A and/or B of essential qualification.
Project duration : Initially 6 months and may be extended based on performance of the candidate and availability of funds.

General Terms and Conditions
• The position is purely temporary and on contractual basis. The position is co-terminus with the project. Candidate selected for this position can also apply for the regular PhD program of INST provided they satisfy eligibility criteria.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
• Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark sheets and other testimonials must be presented along with the self-attested photocopies of these documents at the time of interview.
