Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary position of one Project Scientist-II and one Research Associate-I in the DBT Multi-institutional project proposal “Biotechnological interventions for revitalizing sustainable large cardamom (Amomum subulatum Roxb.) cultivation”, under the supervision of Dr. Gopaljee Jha, Scientist, NIPGR.

Post : Project Scientist-II, Research Associate

Project Scientist-II
Emoluments : Rs. 67000/- plus 27% HRA per month as sanctioned in the project.
Qualification : Candidates having Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or a related field with at least three years of research experience in science and technology organizations/ academic institutions and fulfilling the guidelines/norms of DST OM number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 10/07/2020 are eligible to apply. Candidates with M.Tech in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics, with five years of research experience, can also apply as mentioned in the above DST OM. Candidates with research experience in biocontrol formulations, molecular plant- pathogen interaction studies, microbial genomics, peptide design, and microbial formulations, duly supported with relevant publications in SCI journals (at least two first-author research papers, each with more than five impact factors) will be preferred. 
Age Limit : The upper age limit for the post is 40 years.

Research Associate
Emoluments : Rs. 58000/- plus 27% HRA per month as sanctioned
Qualification : Candidates having Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/bioinformatics or a related field are eligible to apply. Candidates with an M.Tech in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics, with three years of research experience and a relevant research publication, and fulfilling the guidelines/norms of DST OM No: DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated June 26, 2023 are eligible to apply. Candidates with research experience in the area of computational biology, genome assembly and annotation, GWAS analysis, duly supported with relevant publications in SCI journals (at least one first-author research papers with more than three impact factors) will be preferred. Knowledge in Python and R and Linux operating system is desirable in the project.


The above positions are completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above positions is as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST norms. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended based on assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067 on December 12, 2025 at 10:00 am onwards along with the duly filled in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form along with self-attested copies of the date of birth, educational & experience certificates must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on December 12, 2025. Any candidate reporting after 11:00 a.m. will not be entertained for walk- in interview. The candidates must ascertain eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data, Ph. D thesis, publication in copy and original degree/experience certificates and transcripts for verification. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to the disqualification of the candidate(s)


Note : Incomplete application and those in the wrong format will be summarily rejected. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
