Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (renamed as Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya in June, 2001) was established on 1st November, 1978.The College of Agriculture (established in May, 1966) formed the nucleus of the new farm University. It is Indian Council of Agricultural Research accredited institution and the National Institutional Ranking Framework, Ministry of Education; Govt. of India has ranked this University at 14th position among all agriculture and allied sector institutions of the country. Among all State Agriculture Universities of the country, the University is placed at 8th rank.

This Department intends to offer the fellowship under the adhoc project entitled Harnessing genetic potential of underutilized wheat germplasm through prebreeding for biotic stress resilience”. The fellowship is co-terminus with the project. The qualifications and other requisite information in above context are as under.

Qualification (s) : Essential:- M.Sc. in Plant Breeding/ Genetics / Plant Pathology / Biotechnology / Life Sciences.
Desirable: - One year experience in handling of wheat breeding / Plant pathological work
Remuneration : Rs. 42000/- PM
Application processing fee : Rs 450/- (Rs 110/- for reserved categories)
The applications on the prescribed proforma, given overleaf, completed in all respects along with application fee (Bank Draft in favour of Comptroller, CSKHPKV, Palampur) should reach in the office of the Head, Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, CSKHPKV, Palampur latest by 18.12.2025 upto 05:00 PM alongwith attested copies of educational certificates. The work specific interaction will be held in the office of the undersigned on 20.12.2025 at 11.00 am. In case date of work specification is happened to be holiday the same will be held on next working day on same time.
The fellowship is purely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the expiry of the project. The candidates are advised to produce the original certificates and other testimonials at the time of work specific interaction. No separate letter will be issued in this regard to the candidates and no TA/DA will be paid for attending the work specific interaction.
