Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the following positions in Odisha-DST funded project “Establishment of OMBRIC-ILS Centre of Excellence in Marine Biotechnology for promoting research on bioprospecting of marine biota”
Selection will be carried out through application screening, followed by an interview process.
Project duration : Initially for one year, may be extended up to 3 to 5 years
Project Coordinator / Manager cum Facility In charge
Number of post : 01
Upper age limit : The candidate should be below 55 years in age, as on 31st December 2025.
Remuneration : Rs. 60,000-Rs. 1,25,000/- (consolidated)
Eligibility criteria : Candidates having PhD or Master's degree in Science / Technology / Pharmacy / Veterinary Science or equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Virology / Microbiology, etc.)/ Business administration with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxation will be given as per GOI guideline) Desirable: More than 10 years of experience in handling scientific/ administrative projects.
Senior project associate / Project Associate III
Number of post : 02
Upper age limit : 40 years
Remuneration : 42,000/- per month + 20% HRA
Eligibility criteria : Candidates having M.Sc. / M.Tech / M.Pharm. / M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Virology / Microbiology, etc.) with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxation will be given as per GOI guideline) with 4 years of experience in Research & Development in Industrial & Academic Institutions or Science & Technology Organizations & Scientific activities & services are eligible to apply.
OR
PhD in science and allied subjects are eligible to apply. Desirable: Candidates familiar with NGS data analysis, such as Whole-genome, metagenomes and 16/18S amplicon sequencing, and with experience in programming using R-Bioconductor and Python, will be preferred. A brief write-up (one page maximum) explaining bioinformatics research experience and publications (if any) should be submitted along with the application.
Project Associate I
Number of post : 02
Upper age limit : 35 years
Remuneration : 25,000/- per month + 20% HRA
Eligibility criteria : Candidates having M.Sc. / M. Tech / M. Pharm. / M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Virology / Microbiology, etc.) with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxation will be given as per GOI guideline).
Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per Govt. of India rules. Any other terms and conditions governed as per guidelines issued by the funding agency for the engagement of above positions as amended from time to time shall be in the force towards this temporary recruitment.
All the positions are purely temporary and coterminous with the project. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The decision of the Director regarding the selection of candidates will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
