IIEST, Shibpur ranks 27th in NIRF-2021 among Engineering Institutes. It is the first college to become Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) in India in 2014. The Institute has a rich history. It is empowering the nation since 1856. Considering the year of establishment, it is the 3rd engineering college in India but considering the year of graduation it is the 2nd oldest engineering college in India. It has 16 departments and 8 schools. It has over 250 faculty members and a student strength of over 4000.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - 01 Post
Maximum Age Limit (as on the date of advertisement) : 28 years
Fellowship : 1st year : Rs. 37,000 +HRA @30% per month, 2nd year : Rs. 37,000 +HRA @30% per month, 3rd year : Rs. 42,000 + HRA @30% per month
Essential Qualification : Master's degree in Pharmacy / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Medicine / Chemistry / Biochemistry / Physics / Biotechnology / Biomedical engineering / Natural sciences OR any allied fields in Life Sciences from a recognized University OR Equivalent with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades etc.).
Desirable Qualification : 1. GATE qualification.
2. Experience in working in the related field.
3. Having experience in handling FTIR, Raman, DLS and other spectroscopic data.
4. Having exposure to various Molecular Biology techniques.

Project Associate (PA) - 01 Post
Maximum Age Limit (as on the date of advertisement) : 30 years
Fellowship : 1st year : Rs. 25,000 + HRA @30% per month, 2nd year : Rs. 25,000 + HRA @30% per month, 3rd year : Rs. 28,000 + HRA @30% per month
Essential Qualification : Master's Degree Biotechnology / Instrumentation or any allied fields in Life Sciences OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering & Technology from a recognized University or Equivalent with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades etc.).
Desirable Qualification : 1. Experience in working in a related field (more than 5 years).
2. Having experience in handling Confocal, TIRF, Raman, DLS and other state-of-the-art instruments.

(N.B. Upper age limit is Exceeded by up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Woman/PWD/EWS as per Govt, of India and ANRF rules)
Duration : Initially for 06 months. It may be extended after evaluation up to 36 months OR till the completion of the project, whichever happens earlier.
