Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), an institution of education, training and research is established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India under the auspices of UNESCO. The Centre will focus on cooperatively working towards shared biotechnology growth in the Asia-Pacific Region. Regional interactions in biotechnology will promote co-operation amongst the countries to develop necessary infrastructure and capacity building for economic benefit of our societies. The Centre would be beneficial in developing knowledge rich, highly skilled human resource to all countries in the region. RCB will be part of the Biotech Science Cluster (BSC) and will operate in synergy with the other institutions in the Cluster.
Post : Technical Officer
Title of Project: “Understanding the role of Exocyst complex in cell division and development in Caenorhabditis elegans”
Duration: Till May 31, 2019. Extendable further subject to availability of funds and expected extension of project duration, and on the performance of the candidate.
Essential Qualifications:
1) Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences/ related sciences or
2) B.Pharm/ B.Tech. Practical experience and knowledge of mammalian cell culture, cell and molecular biology and/or protein biochemical analysis is required.
Desirable Qualifications: Practical knowledge of handling Caenorhabditis elegans in the laboratory and/or experience with high resolution confocal and/or fluorescence microscopy. NET qualification is desirable.
Principal investigator: Dr. Pushpa Kumari, India Alliance/ DBT-Wellcome Early Career Fellow in the lab of Dr. Sivaram Mylavarapu, Associate Professor.
Salary: Rs. 35,400/- per month consolidated. No other benefits admissible.
