The Government of India converted the Tripura Engineering College to National Institute of Technology Agartala on 1st April 2006 vide notification No. F. 20-20/2004/TS III/ dated 10.03.2006 of the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Govt. of India. During the conversion, Tripura Engineering College was offering undergraduate degrees in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication and Production Engineering.
Applications are invited for the post of Project Technical Support-Ill (1 number) under the sponsored research project. The details of the project and the post for recruitment are given below

Title of the Project : Process development for prodigiosin production in bioreactor and evaluation of nanoparticle-based prodigiosin therapies for triplenegative breast cancer cell lines
Funding Agency : ICMR
Project duration : March 2025 to March 2028
Principal Investigator (PI) : Dr. Biswanath Bhunia, Assistant Professor, Department of Bioengineering, NIT Agartala.
Emolument per month : Consolidated amount of Rs. 28,000/- + HRA for first two years & increment @5% on initial emoluments after completion of every two years, subject to performance review.
Essential Qualification : Essential: Three years graduate degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Food Science and Technology, Genetic Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry or Allied life sciences + three years post qualification experience (or)
PG in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Food Science and Technology, Genetic Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry or Allied life sciences.

Four years Graduate degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biotechnology & Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biosciences and Bioengineering, Food Engineering/Technology, Pharmacy and allied disciplines.

Desirable : Candidates should have knowledge in computational and experimental fields related to the project and publications in SCI/SCIE/Scopus.
Description of responsibilities
• The primary role is to assist in research activities under the guidance of the Principal Investigator (PI). Research activities include the production of prodigiosin pigment, purification, preparation of nano-particles and their characterization and characterization of its potential as drug against cancer cell lines.
Terms and Conditions
The position is purely on temporary basis and will be governed by the administrative rules, conditions imposed by Research & Consultancy Cell, NIT Agartala.

10. The candidate selected for the above position will have the option to register for PhD program at Department of Bioengineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala. However, for admission to PhD program, the candidate must meet certain eligibility requirements as per the prevailing Ph.D. rules of NIT Agartala.
