Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, an Institution of eminence deemed to be University, invites applications from eligible candidates for the post of Project Research Scientist II (Non-Medical) for the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Govt. of India funded research project in the School of Civil & Chemical Engineering, Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal.
Post : Project Research Scientist II (Non-Medical)
Project title : “Multi-matrix volatomic-metabolomic profiling approach for early and pathogen-specific diagnosis of sepsis and assessment of antimicrobial sensitivity using animal models”
Duration of Engagement : 2 years (2026 – 2028)
Eligibility : First-class Post Graduate degree with 3 years experience/ PhD in Life Sciences/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biological Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Chemistry/ in subjects relevant to the project.
Mandatory requirements :
• Experience in animal handling and surgical techniques on mice (tracheostomy, catheterization, blood and tissue collection). (Candidates applying for this position must have expertise in handling animals at laboratory)
• Must have published research article (s) as a first author involving a murine model in peer-reviewed journal.
Desired : • Candidates with UGC-CSIR/NET/GATE/DBT-BET qualification will be preferred.
• Experience in metabolomics (GC-MS/LC-MS) and multi-omics data analysis.
• Scientific writing experience with peer-reviewed publications and strong communication skills.
