Post-doctoral fellowship in the University of Cape Town

Post-doctoral fellowship in the University of Cape Town

Post-doctoral fellowship is offered at the University of Cape Town’s Holistic Drug Discovery and Development Centre (H3D), housed in the Department of Chemistry. This is a drug repurposing project and will integrate AI/ML-based drug screening (approved or marketed) with experimental validation and translational pharmacokinetic- pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) modelling to identify, evaluate and prioritize medicines with antiviral activity against viruses belonging to the Flaviviridae (yellow fever virus, Zika virus, dengue virus, and hepatitis C virus), Coronaviridae (SARS- CoV-2) and Filoviridae (Ebola virus) families. With guidance, you will learn and apply translational PK-PD modelling and AI/ML-based drug screening to identify the hits for potential antiviral drugs.
