Applications are invited from interested and motivated scientists for Research Scientist II position for the ICMR sponsored research project in the Osmania medical college and hospital with collaboration with the Department of Biomedical Engineering, IIT Hyderabad (IITH). As the project is inter- disciplinary, strong experience in any one or more part of the project like Primary stem cell isolation, any organoids, transcriptomics and human immunology experience is solicited. Applicants are encouraged to apply who have good track record of high-end publications with more than 1 year of post- phd experience.
Post-doctoral Research Fellowship (PDF) position at Regenerative medicine & stem cell (RMS) Lab, Dept. of Biomedical Engineering, IIT Hyderabad.
Title : Autologous islet transplantation in pancreas resection patients with clinical validation: Role of immunoisolation devices for islet survival
Islet transplantation is required for diabetes treatment. However, due to allogenic islets, they are further attacked by immune cells of host making the transplantation failed. We have developed a macroencapsulation device (patented) which can keep the islets immune-protected while being functional with insulin secretion. Currently we are attempting to try this patented device with human islet cells and many bioengineering techniques after a successful attempt with rat islets to make it truly a treatment option with a proper pre-clinical trial.

Consolidated monthly stipend : Rs. 87,000/ approx. per month (HRA included)
Essential Qualifications : PhD/Masters in (Biomedical Engineering, Life sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical engineering or equivalent Biosciences degrees) with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA. One year post-PhD RESEARCH work experience with demonstrable skills in liver/pancreas research or organoid or primary cell culture.
Preferred skill set : Knowledge of primary stem cell isolation AND transcriptomics or molecular biology AND 3d spheroid/organoid culture Publication with first author high-IF journals will have added advantage.
Age : Not more than 38 years
